@PSVANE

Wondering how your psvane.co web store screens and matches Horizon tubes?

I ask because the first set of Horizon EL34 tubes was purchased via Amazon and one arrived dead. They were returned to Amazon and replacements came in a box marked EL34, but contained 12AX7s. Another set of Horizon 12AU7-ATs purchased from Amazon tested with very poorly matched triodes on my Amplitrex AT1000 tester. Returned them for a refund.

Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
The issue you mentioned likely occurred last year, when we were still new to managing cross-border logistics independently. At that time, we made some operational mistakes due to inexperience. These problems have since been largely resolved, which is also why we decided to establish our own direct sales channels and launch on Amazon — allowing customers to return products quickly and conveniently.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies.

We are now very familiar with all the procedures involved in overseas direct sales, including testing, inventory preparation, and shipping. Similar issues have been greatly reduced. At the same time, we have optimized our after-sales policy for products shipped directly from China:
if a customer receives a defective item (most commonly due to shipping damage) or encounters an issue during later use, they only need to break the tube, take a photo, and send it to us. We will immediately ship a brand-new replacement free of charge.

All our products come with a 12-month warranty, while our high-end models are covered for 24 months.

What do you mean "...they only need to break the tube..."?

Regarding this policy: after breaking the defective tube, we will send customer a brand-new replacement. This requirement was introduced because, in the past, when our products were mainly sold through distributors, some tubes that should have been destroyed by them unfortunately ended up on the secondary market, causing serious losses for many users.
To address this issue, we established a clear return and replacement procedure.

Another important reason is that for orders placed directly through our official store (psvane.co), all shipments are sent from China. If we were to ask customers to return the tubes to China, the process would be extremely time-consuming and would incur high shipping costs and import taxes.
In the interest of our customers, we have therefore continued this policy for our official direct sales. This approach ensures that customers can receive their replacement tubes as quickly as possible, while keeping the entire verification and handling process simple and worry-free.

Sure, understood.

I asked this question in the prior post, "Wondering how your psvane.co web store screens and matches Horizon tubes?".

Your reply didn't answer the posed question.

@PSVANE exactly how do you test and match your tubes, especially the horizon and art T-III series? please detail this thoroughly.

for example, with what do you test them (device, make, model)? for what do you test them(transconductance, anode current at spec voltage, etc)? do you do any burn in? how much? what percentage of tubes do you destroy and despose of for failing to meet spec? how do you decide what you call "matched?"

please detail this.

I'm using the Psvane Acme 845 tubes in my single ended power amplifier as shown on the top shelf, middle in the photo below....

When you are able to get a pair that works as intended, they sound absolutely beautiful with rich tonality and wonderful micro/macro dynamics!

IMG_4362.jpg
My first matched pair arrived with a defective tube (probably damaged in the overseas shipment from China).
That pair was returned and they sent a new matched pair.
I loved the sound of these tubes so much that I then ordered a second matched pair for back up.
Then another single tube went bad. They had me destroy that one, take a picture and they sent me a replacement tube.
Then another sigle tube went bad yet again. They again had me destroy that one, take a picture and they sent me a another replacement tube.

I currently have two pairs of the Acme 845 that are working as intended. They sound fantastic!!! Best I've had in my amp by a large margin!!!
The reliability or quality control seems to be under par... however, they are very responsive and getting a replacement is easy enough. I just wish they had a higher success rate/lower failure rate.

Best wishes,
Don

I hate getting a replacement that is supposed to be a match . Never seems to be in a PP amp. I end up with hum every time.

I have considered new KT88, but I am not sure the voicing of the tubes. The Psvane site is a little vague. To much word salad and not enough detail on what to expect to help in selection.

Hmm, it's stories like this (and so many others already reported) that will stop me ever going down the Psvane path.

sending out a lot of duds over and over is one thing, but they send out these tubes with fake test results.

a couple of their models, one being the 12AU7, were returned to amzon so often that the listing carried a "frequently returned product" warning. they have been fully informed, and they know what theyre doing.

as we see above, @PSVANE refuses to acknowledge or resolve this well-known problem of selling duds, premature failure and sending fraudulent test results to customers.

I bought a pair of those 12AU7s before owning a good tube tester. After receiving the Amplitrex tester, checked these 12AU7s. The triodes in each are about 20% different, in both tubes. No way anybody would consider them matched triodes. The Amazon return period had long passed.

Triode 1 Triode 2

Tube 1
mA 8.0 10.4
Emission 76% 99%
GM 118% 145%

Tube 2
mA 10.2 8.2
Emission 97% 78%
GM 136% 122%
