@romaz and @QSA-LANEDRI ...greetings. I have a simple system and am exploring the idea of trying a Discovery Veridion power cable and perhaps an Ethernet cable. Where should I first place the Power cable? Source or DAC?
- Source: Antipodes k21 streamer
- DDC: Berkeley Alpha USB2
- DAC: LTA Aero
- Integrated Amp: Thöress EHT MK2
- S/C & I/C cables: Silversmith Fidelium, Kirmuss, Pink Faun
-P/C cables: TWL, Wisdom Audio
Thanks. Will the shipment come from Belgium? As I'm in the US, I have to worry about tariffs now. hahaTo see the full breakdown of the priority list and recommendations, check out this post: Prioirity list
I recommend starting with the Antipodes K21 streamer. Using both the Discovery Veridion power and Ethernet cables with the streamer will unlock much more of its potential.
Experimenting with the Discovery Veridion power cable across your other components will help you understand the specific impact it has on each one.
We ship Discovery Veridion cables worldwide directly from Belgium, with the exception of the United States, where shipments have been so far handled from New Mexico. For production and logistical reasons, we will now begin dispatching directly from Belgium to our U.S. clients, streamlining the shipping process. For European clients, VAT fees apply, and for international clients, customs or tariff fees may apply.Thanks. Will the shipment come from Belgium? Thanks. So no more shipment from New Mexico within the US.We ship Discovery Veridion cables worldwide directly from Belgium, with the exception of the United States, where shipments have been so far handled from New Mexico. For production and logistical reasons, we will now begin dispatching directly from Belgium to our U.S. clients, streamlining the shipping process. We are considering opening a dedicated production site for our U.S. clients once order volumes justify it.
do you mean that these tiny timing variations naturally occur during network streaming due to packet delivery, processing, and buffering? And in a highly resolved, very low-noise system (like one fully Veridion-treated), these micro-timing variations become audible as subtle musical nuances, giving a perception similar to the slight timing fluctuations of a live performance?
In other words, the “imperfections” are a byproduct of the streaming process itself, not the digital file, and the system’s clarity allows them to be perceived musically rather than as distortion.
The standard MTU (Maximum transmission unit) size of most of the internet is 1500 bytes. What this basically means is that data being sent over the internet which is larger than 1500 bytes will have to be split into packets with a maximum size of 1500 bytes. (The reason I gave -l values of 1472 and 1400 is because ICMP has an overhead of 28 bytes. 1472+28=1500).
Might you know how much the customs/tariff fees add to the cost for Discovery items shipped to the US?We ship Discovery Veridion cables worldwide directly from Belgium, with the exception of the United States, where shipments have been so far handled from New Mexico. Wonderful news! Thanks for doing this.meaning our clients will receive their orders without paying any additional fees upon delivery.
Thank you.Tariff fees for U.S. Orders - Update
We have clarified the situation with our carrier, DHL Express, and found a solution whereby all tariff fees will be covered by us (the shipper). The packages will be shipped under the DDP (“Delivered Duty Paid”) option, meaning our clients will receive their orders without paying any additional fees upon delivery.
Ken — using the Discovery Veridion Ethernet cable, along with powering the Wi-Fi mesh-satellite using the Discovery Veridion AC or DC power cables, will not only be beneficial but it’s proving to have the biggest impact on the whole setup.Thank you.
Anas -- have a quick question regarding the use-case of my ethernet setup. I use a mesh wifi system in my home. As my music-room does not have ethernet access, I use a mesh-satellite for my streamer (only source); thus, the only connection to the wifi mesh-satellite is my streamer and the power supply. Do you think the Discovery Viridion Ethernet cable will beneficial? Thanks.
Ken
Good stuff, Anas. What about power distributors? I currently use this one and am debating how, and if, it should mesh with QSA power strip.
