Yes, I always trust my own ears, for sure. However, Emile's view would be welcome, at least for me. I have spent time testing the best combination for the Extreme. If he tells me it should be the same for the Olympus, I will probably not spend any time testing again.

It is likely you may end up having the same preferences, however as the benefits can be considerable for a rather minor time investment I would recommend revisiting this with any component change.
With some help from @nenon, I had the chance to try grounding my Extreme, nothing fancy. Was not expecting much but now that I've heard the improvement, I am thinking of getting a proper grounding system. Tripoint is not in my budget so looking for recommendations.

Yes, I have Shunyata’s ALTAIRA (Signal) Hubs throughout. Have been very happy with the results. Just make sure you tie all the hubs together if you use more than one, and it’s best to have everything connected to one common breaker.
Ground and Earth are connected -and that's in fact what you want when you use an external ground.
Try it out - check for continuity between the ground screw and the IEC ground.

Hi Ulrich. Photo of the oyaide power inlet r which Taiko extreme uses below. In line with convention, the lower left pin is live and the lower right pin is neutral.

Looking for some ideas as I have given up. After a standard restart, XDMS keeps telling me the ASIO driver won't initialize. I don't have Roon, nor do I want to start using it, so my Extreme is just looking imposing in my rack. Never happened before and I usually restart every 2 weeks or so.
Ed told me the DAC is not connected so I checked the USB cable and even tried the mobo USB. Nothing. I reinstalled the Rockna drivers and that didn't help. Rockna said it could be the software, XDMS, but I figure I can wait until the beta is released and then see what happens.
Does anyone have any ideas or ever experienced this? It doesn't help that I have a not so common DAC that has its own Window's drivers. Fortunately I still have my Naim 01 tuner which is sounding sublime.
first thing I personally would do is to try to see if your DAC runs on a different computer (i would use my notebook for this). use the same USB cable, same Rockna drivers.
If your other computer doesn't see it, then that excludes the Extreme or XDMI.
