Does Gian eat more often than I do?

i don’t know but in Italy it is a good idea to eat as often as you can especially if you are visiting. Make the most of it.

i eat 6 times a day when I am on paleo type diet. But Italy is opposite of paleo and Marco told me Gians wife makes excellent tiramisu. I have not had it. Since Marco told me that Gian is worried about calling me back thinking I will ask for it all the time

“So after listening to Decca’s Scottish Fantasia Oistrakh original, Kogan Columbia Tchaikovsky, and Szell’s Beethoven eroica original, I took out my two key LPs that are the most challenging for a system test and component compare.

The MoFi one step Eric Clapton unplugged, a recording masterpiece where the guitar transients said pluck off to other systems, and claps showcased the breadth of the stage and the separation between multiple hands was clear helping me visualise their fingers and feel the forearm strength of each person clapping

Then I took out my one LP for a desert island, the MoFi Santana. Listening to these (de) feats of recording, that would have normally exposed weaknesses in lesser systems, I could not detect any difference between the analog and the oppo, proving how well the equipment truly disappeared, leaving no analog colouration, that the more clued audiophiles will be so grateful for “

Was this at Mike’s? Didn’t realize he replaced his WADAX with an Oppo!

Having heard it in around 10 systems over 4 years, and having visited the factory, my thoughts. (...)

Is the tonearm available separately? Although no component is perfect I think that there is something fundamentally right in linear tracking tonearms that can't be reached in pivot tonearms.

I agree in theory, but implementation is the issue, and then listening is the test. I really enjoyed the sound of Lloyd Walker's table/arm when I heard it years ago. We would all be using linear tracking arms if....

This is my favourite article you have ever done, Ked. You won’t get this level of insight and experience across broad range of global systems coupled to educational setup advice anywhere on the web. Bravo.
+1 I love good writing and this is you at your (so far) very best Ked. Awesome read and a lesson in authenticity. Looking forwards to you getting out more and being regularly back on the road again testing gear and the owners and eating in very fine style.

Peter,

Were you going to write "We would all be using linear tracking arms if we compared the vinyl to master tape? " Just trying to guess! ;)

SME 3012r on the AF3 premium with an identical master signature Stradivarius also on the Graham Elite, and a Grand Cru on another 3012r.

Dohmann 2 with Graham elite and Grado epoch 3, which is also a very good cartridge, possibly an alternative to the likes of Opus and zyx
