Zero Distortion: Tango Time

Listening to Master Tang new video without the daiza on CMS shows that lots of nuances and dynamics were lost. Difference in musicality was obvious from first note.

Sorry, I didn't understand. Haven't heard yet. Are you saying the loss was with or without the daiza on the CMS

You need to tell Ron and those who liked his post

I recorded a before/after while playing with one particular speaker. Some people liked the before more. It's funny though because no one in person hearing it would EVER EVER EVER say that. The phone picked up things very differently.

But no instruments were mistaken for other instruments, just as reference.

Here is for a starter.

ML3 on CMS.

ML3 on Daiza on CMS

Have not done ML3 on Daiza directly on floor yet. Hectic schedule.

Tang, when my GF is busy she drops her bag and shoes on the floor. She's never too busy to not relax Lol.

Hi Tang,

If you want to try that, it may work better if you remove the little damping foams from the footers as they will be sitting on carpet in stead of a hard surface. In fact it sounds like you could lose 1 or 2 on each device already, it sounds slightly overdamped to me on the video. Are there rubber footers underneath the Lamms? Goodluck at any rate! :)

Interesting. I can see how everyone will say 1 is better. On Youtube it is better for many qualities, but that doesn't mean it is in person. Phones don't handle everything well. The only way to make certain things translate well for phone/YouTube for me is to ruin the sound I hear...

But I'm not also saying the Daiza are good. I still see how it makes no sense to stack with CMS racks (defeats CMS). I think the most compelling for/against would come from no CMS in the mix.

The one that Tang claims to be with the daiza is quite lesser in harmonics and flat and dry. He also sent me on WhatsApp a couple of piano with and without the one without Daiza was Apassionata the other was B'Ap.

I think he should now do on and off the floor and then on pre and phono

I think Tang needs to do 100 push ups in between platform changes. Pretty soon, this is going to be audiophile aerobics.

Does not matter what Mr.Folsom and Mr Ron is saying about youtube, i am willing to take those Daizas off your hands whenever you are ready, Master Tang.

Yours sincerely,

On contrary, Folsom. Don't be shy to say the first video, ML3 on CMS, is more warm and veiled in comparison to one with Daiza. The second video with Daiza has a better clarity than the one without Daiza...very much like a good original pressing versus a repressed one. If anyone value naked clarity and transparency, the one with Daiza will keep you very happy. Clarity is an aspect of sound that people can distinguish whether you are audiophile or not. Not much subjectivity to that. Another thing for sure is there is no loss of dynamic whatsoever when the Daiza is in. Let me quote Rhapsody Bob what he described of Daiza sound.

" In my world it's more about having everything. Micro/macro dynamics, timbre/tonality, layered 3D holographic soundstage, clear articulate textured bass, clear accurate top end, full bodied room filling, wall of sound. I get all of these in spades WITh the Diazas in place."

I at the moment I agree with above statements but am questioning the tonality/timbre and textured bass aspects. The bass to me at this point is clear and articulate as Bob said. But textured?

This is a work in progress. I am quite hectic with my kid, my wife who will soon deliver my second baby and work schedule. (I still text with David, Ked and Gian under table when in meeting though :D) Thanks Emile for recommending more appropriate way to use Daiza given my conditions. I will follow to that. The ML3 does come with hard rubber feet.

There will be quite a few more comparison videos to come. Ddk and Bonzo are big name with heavy words on this forum. Their comments are valuable datapoints. But don't let their published words in the forum earlier hesitate you from what you really hear or state your comment in this forum. I am not addressing this to you my friend, Folsom.

Kind regards,
Tang
