What's the most recent piece of audio equipment you have purchased and when?

I bought a used SS amp for $700 that was a total fail. I bought it for a variety of reasons. To test power. To fiddle with Biamping. To understand the whole of my main system and room to help tune. A different perspective. It sucks enough it really is good for nothing.

I should have bought a new VTV class D amp. I don't know what I was thinking. At least with the VTV if I didn't like it, I could return it. I threw away seven hundred dollars.

Fortunately I keep an old Quad CD67-66 preamp - 606mk2 amp for those days ...

You are right, from time to time we have to refresh our perspective.

For five components Monos, preamp, Dac, and streamer, and four plates of audio re-alignment technologies (ART).
About as good as a speaker upgrade, major increased soundstage and finally have some good depth. Not cheap even with 20% off

Lessloss Giant Steps equipment footers.

These are different to most (all?) equipment footers on the market as they don't "react" to vibration using rubber/elastomer or physically moving parts, as that tech is just going to 'be late' as the vibration has already occurred when the reactive footer begins to dampen it. The Giant Steps address isolation via an electromagnetic field solution. You can read explanation of how they work on their website. (I am not affiliated with any audio manufacturer or dealer, just a user of Lessloss products)

A Boulder 2108 (phono preamp) installed last week to complete a Boulder 2100 series system (Boulder 2110, 2160 and 2108). Really love the Boulder 2100 system, which IMO is miles above the 1100 series product.
