Blues on the Run - Melvin Taylor
Three Guitars - Coryell, Assad, Abercrombie
Surf Party - The Astronauts
Brahms Symp#1 - LAPO Giulini DG

A slew of CDs just arrived. Kind of Blue and Take 5 (K2 Remastered Editions), Scarecrow - Mellencamp (MFSL), Vivaldi Four Seasons - Accardo XRCD, Hooker & Heat (MFSL), Lou Donaldson LD+3 (XRCD), Rossini STabat Mater, Bruch Symphonies - Marriner XRCD, Jazz at the Pawnshop Vol 2 SACD, and several others.

FWIW, K2 is better, clearer, much more powerful musical signal than either of the two CD-versions i have. Probably 30% or more.

That's a great bunch there, and from the best record labels.

Vivaldi's Cello - yo-yo MA tABO| Koopman
Live at Trinity Church - Romero
Monterey - Lori Lieberman
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John

Mozart 3 Divertimenti - Neville Marriner - FIM XRCD Remaster from original tape. Stunning though have not heard regular CD. So far seems like a remarkable recording.

Rossini String Sonatas - Neville Marriner - XRCD. If you like Mozart, i would say this has very similar musical style...no comment on the genius of Mozart vs this composer (whom i am sure many would say was not Mozart)...but from a stylistic perspective, i do like his String Sonatas quite a bit. I am enjoying listening to his music...'nuff said for me.

Just wikipedia'd Rossini...turns out he was known as the Italian Mozart in his day and remained the most popular Italian composer til his death in 1829...when Giuseppe Verdi supposedly gathered 12 of the top composers of the time to compose and perform a Requiem for Rossini in his honor.

Well, i like his string sonatas and look forward to listening to his Stabat Mater (Chandos) later.
