Country music is not really my thing. It seems like every song has the same dit-dit-doodah tempo and tune. But it’s an indelible part of Americana, right? I like jazz far more, but perhaps one day I’ll get to dig it
Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker invented “west coast” jazz — if you live in the Bay Area, you’ll dig this album right away. Mellow and cool — none of that hard-driving Miles Davis John Coltrane “east coast” jazz angst. This lovely double vinyl album from Prestige collects all their duets from the early 1950’s. Sounds so lovely I wonder why folks bother with “stereo”. Sheesh!
