Starting off my Friday morning with one of my favorite bands. New album drop……

I work 4 - 5 times a year in algeria .
When you made a 4 wheel drive tour / go camping in the Sahara with the touareg you really understand this music .

Three oldie but golden CDs last night.
Hot Club is done by same guy (Ed Woods/Wodenjak) renowned for Crystal Clear d2ds. Never really played this cd (1993) and was shocked to see Maria Muldaur, Dan Hicks and a few other notables listed and performing on the disc. Sound is way above average for digital of that period too. Nothing offensive--and the strings could have been.
The Different Strokes disc done by Tom Jung/DMP and pretty good sounding too, especially Cage's 3rd Construction. One thing weird about the DMPs, though, is they're pressed at a lower level than other cds. Ergo need to turn the volume up. The sound is very good but there's a little loss of airiness/ambience (eg drier and not the feel of the same piece say of the New World LP release) and resolution. But very dynamic and still recommended.
Lastly, everybody knows the Dean Peer Ucross but was the best it's ever sounded last night. Give credit here to the Soulution electronics and Zellaton speakers!
