Saint Saens Violin Concertos.. Sait-Saens seems to be "only" known for his Cello COncerto and the famed Symphony #3 The "Organ" Symphony.. It would be a mistake to not look beyond these well worn pieces... The Violins Concerti on this box set will convince you of the contrary :
Lyrical and melodiou,s the Violonist Ulf Hoeeslcher judging by these pieces is very, very good .. One to follow .. He was previously unknown to me ... Good, decent recording with some sense of hall ambience although the spotlighting of the violin is evident... good frequency range and decent dynamics ...
It known by now how good those MErcury were in term of quality of recording .. What should not or never be forgotten is the quality of the music and the performances themselves ...
Mercury Schuman - Mendelssohn Violin Concerto
Tired and wanting to go to bed but the music is keeping me awake a SUPERB rendition and a great recording !!!
ANother BEautiful album .. I must say that although I like it I prefer Jacqueline Dupre's Rendition of some of the pieces here, I wanted to hear a different perspective on the pieces ..
jacqueline Dupre's CD Box is simply sublime but not really spinning tonoight .. well I don't know yet
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Vynil reissue / Virgin Anthony Wilson - The Power of Nine / Groove Note Records Radiohead - Kid A McCoy Tyner - New York Reunion / Chesky Records
Is this thread only about spinning albums (LPs, vinyls), and CDs included as well?
Anything that spins? ...And only at night? In your own "reseau horaire"?
* Right now, spinning: Jazz from the r.a.di.o. (analog FM 88.5 Stereophonic in Seattle).
This one tonight... You really have to hear it on the UK Vertigo label..Quite special, IMO.
Before Ozzy went off the deep end. Tony and Ozzy were making music together at this point. At least IMHO
