Sounds Unheard of... Is spectacular. Unfortunately Chad's LP reissue a while back didn't do it justice :( The original just has so much more space and info! The 45 rpm Gil Evans is also really good. Very underrated. Last year went to one night of a week long celebration if Impulse's founding. Each night was dedicated to an artist on the label and had gotten tickets for the Gil Evans night. Just amazing music and his widow was in attendance at the concert and said a few words!

i had an original impulse of sounds unheard but havent compered the two, Chads still sounds good but ill take your word for it. shelly did another album with jack marshall on capitol along the same theme but i havent heard it been seeing the jpn mini LP CD and wondered if it matches the Sounds unheard. the impulse CD transfer of the gil evans is pretty good for a budget offering. the three was issused on CD presumebly from a saftey tape but its a totally different take - the D2D is superior on all counts, same for the klemmer ive found a pressing with alternate take of side two and not as good imo.

Beethoven| 5 Piano Concertos/triple Concerto - Fisher, Istomin, Stern, Rose, Szell, Ormandy 3cd's Sony
Pretty good for a budget set, IMHO, of course

The road to Escondidio is a CD I would like to hear....BTW, the road to Escondido isn't that pretty, I drive it frequently and let me tell you, it's got nothing on Interstate 1 into Carmel, Ca.:D

Today on the LP spinner, I'm listening to: MFSL Getz/Gilberto 200 gram and MFSL King Crimson in the Court. ( try and pick up this one if you can, it's a treat) and Miles Davis Vol 1 on Blue Note 1501 Lex Ave deep groove.

The Road is a wonderful CD and I've been toying with the Crim, although my orginal copy stll sounds good.

As John mentions Clapton/Cale is a fine disc...

Today on the LP spinner, I'm listening to: MFSL Getz/Gilberto 200 gram

Have the orig Lp and a remaster and the FIM K2HD which I like a lot

and MFSL King Crimson in the Court. ( try and pick up this one if you can, it's a treat)

Have the itCotCK box set released earlier this year and a K2HD JP import from awhile ago, plus of course the original vinyl

and Miles Davis Vol 1 on Blue Note 1501 Lex Ave deep groove.

That one I'll have to look onto

If you have any interest in acoustic guitar playing the Jones disc is a treat
