Take one Eurasian throat singer who's countrymen in Tuva have been suppressed by Soviet rule. Add lifelong fascination with his homeland by noted scientist Richard P. Feynmann (a recording of him playing drums is overdubbed) suggestive of deeply tangled complications in their folk music forms. Finally, "In this project Ondar storms across America, commanding a regiment including WILLIE NELSON, RANDY SCRUGGS, BILL MILLER, and RICHARD FEYNMANN. Hold on for the ride."

It may be digitally recorded, but the vinyl is a high quality rendition to my ears.

 

Another fun, hip record in the register of crazy, for those of us who need to 'feed the crazy' once in a while. Chris Bowden 'Slightly Askew'. Not Captain Beefheart crazy, but half way there. Vinyl quality and performance quality VG plus plus.

Not many bands have a commonality of interests and friendly relations that navigates slope up to and through numerous recordings on a major label. Much less walk away together after that falls apart and continue having a solid decades long career still going today.
