What do you think of this video

What do you think of this video. And this is not directed to those who think every mobile phone video is trash, thanks. Please listen to the end for the brass and the woodwinds

Beecham is the second movement and Reiner the 4th. Beecham is very lyrical, but overall the Reiner on Scheherazade is quite unbeatable especially on the 4th movement. Listen to the Reiner 2nd movement on earlier videos on this thread including OP. On the 4th others are puny. Kondrashin with Concertgebouw is good and different and also has rollicking 4th. Stokowski is very different, though not as good for me. The Ansermet first three movements on decca are ok.

Reiner also has best brass section in all of them and every individual instrument is excellent. Kondrashin has Krebbers who went on to play an excellent Beethoven concerto with Haitink and also a very good Brahms on the inexpensive LP and digital side.

Reiner is brilliant on Pictures, Beethoven 5th, 7th, Eroica, Rossini overtures.

his recordings are not great though the the classic records of Scheherazade is quite good, but his originals are not as great a quality as some other originals. But I still like his performance crossed with recording quality better than others with better recording quality. He is actually very good on CD.

the Beecham recording quality also is meh I enjoy it on YouTube direct as an LP rip
Reiner's William Tell Overture is great. Another one is the Felix Slatkin Hollywood Bowl Orchestra where he emulates Toscanini - astonishingly.

Small speakers with SUB ( not really played in yet ill replace the vid later this weekend ).
All transistor with Hegel Dac / You Tube .

Thread title: What do you think of this video (?)

I find it very hard to judge because I have no reference to those sounds. There is no way for me to know what it is supposed to sound like, so it must be judged on its own in isolation. I think it is kind of cool and different, but it sounds a highly processed and flat to me. No real energy or life. Perhaps it is not supposed to. Who knows? The bass is weak with not much extension or weight. Neither the music nor the sound really grabbed my attention and made me want to listen longer. I have heard this kind of music pop out of my computer speakers before and make an impression, but not this.

When I play Yello works, I can shake the room like an earthquake (or reduce the bass gain). This does sound weak and thin.

I can't video record my system adequately to make an impression but when I use a digital recorder (Tascam) with built-in inexpensive mikes it can do a very good facsimile of what I'm hearing live.

I’ve never really been impressed with CAT. I don’t really know what you mean by transparent controlled sound. If the video doesn’t sound anything like what you’re hearing in the room, why did you post the video in this video commenting thread?

Another Scheherazade video.
Cartridge Analog Relax EX2000, tonearm Kuzma Safir 9.
Recorded using IPhone 14 handheld

Revived! - The other Scheherazade thread.
Made this a couple years ago...

Try ~7:10 and on for the fantastic Chicago brass mentioned earlier.
Sounds fantastic! I will also try to record the whole song. What is the format here if I may ask?

Thank you. This is 33-1/3 LP. Not sure if I remember -- I think it is with my Kuzma 4Point and Fuuga cartridge. Samsung 21 Ultra phone.

My post #512: Kuzma 4Point, Fuuga cartridge, Lamm LP2.1 linestage
This post: SME 3012R, van den Hul Master Signature, Lamm LL1.1 linestage

If you want to compare. to the one above, you'll need to volume adjust this one. My apologies for poor gain match.

For further comparo, here is Mehta with the Angelinos. Here you hear more harp (~7:35). Faster tempo. A different voice for Scheherazade.

London CS 6950

Same system as above.
This record needs to be cleaned.
