Record from Michael Hobson’s personal collection. I would say the quality is good, especially for 33rpm record.

Still my iPhone 14 handheld at listening position. The only difference was I used 1.0 zoom instead of 0.8 or 0.7 zoom.
Not sure if it's doing your system justice, have you tried mono and stereo recording or using a recording app?

I did not know you could record stereo with an iPhone? Also what app do you use?
I don't have iphone but apparently you can go to camera settings and select mono/stereo. Apps like Blackmagic allow you to more control over recording levels/mics.

I read on the net somewhere the I phone 14 has more then one (recording mic ) ( 3 mics ? ) i dont know if it has the possibility to record with 2 mics for stereo .

AI answer

No, you cannot record a true stereo signal with a single mono microphone because stereo requires two distinct sound sources or capsules to capture sound from different spatial locations. However, you can record a mono signal from one mic and then process it in a digital audio workstation (DAW) to create a faux stereo effect by duplicating the signal and panning the copies to the left and right. Some specialized stereo microphones contain multiple capsules in a single housing, allowing for stereo recording from a single mic unit.

This one is cool RODE and it works with USB -C , but it doesnt state anywhere it records stereo.

Thank you. I checked my camera settings and it is already in stereo mode, will look into this Blackmagic app.

Thank you for the mic recommendation. However, I think I will keep it light and simple though. If I am a reviewer/reporter this mic definitely makes sense.

Do you have any new feelings about the SF? I an liking most of your videos more
After the first couple days I was not too sure. It was quite musical and somewhat dark sounding. After one week though, I decided to trade my Wilson for these. These speakers have opened up quite a bit and are totally different to when they first arrived in my room. They are now much faster and more dynamic, with lots of sparkles but without the excessive hot and sharp highs of my Wilsons at times. Midrange is more lush but not overly so. Bass is deep and impactful with good textures (not as deep as the Alexia V though).

What impresses me most is the deep and holographic soundstage these speakers produce. I was reluctant at first as these speakers are much shorter and smaller than my Alexia. That reluctance is no more, the soundstage is both wide and tall, even when I stand up.

Thanks, it was obvious from the first video that they were better, so good decision.

Shorter speakers can lead to larger soundstage than bigger speakers if they are better designed, let more of the recording through, and your record has the soundstage. The bigger speaker if it is not as well designed will just try to force a height through physical structure but compress the recording stage.

Here is the Qobuz track for anyone curious to try it on their system:

To be honest, I am not that impressed with this recording (the track on Qobuz, not the video, though the video does reflect the limitations of the recording as well). The other Living Voice record was more satisfying.

Are you talking about a recording of Living Voice speakers playing? Can you share the link to that if possible? Thank you
