Tobian Soundsystems - Switzerland

I have the 12FHs and they sound wonderful and only 2 meters apart in a 3.3m x 6m room.

Thanks, I'm even more convinced about my choice. Now it's time to think about an amplifier and a preamp.
A lot of good choices there. From Tobian's own, to Aries or Phasemation... really a long list of options.

Every day, I make sure I've made the right choice of speakers by comparing different sets, starting with Kondo and Phasemation.
Kondo GAKUOH II+G70 briefly plays with a beautiful, full sound, definitely focused on vocals, rather on the warm side. It is not a detailed sound focused on separation, but rather creates a general spectacle. Everything sounds beautiful for equipment shrouded in such fame, but for me, there is not enough detail, not enough nuances that create the overall spectacle and give many songs their beauty.
The speakers themselves produced beautiful tones, a large soundstage, and magical midrange. The vocals I love sounded great, with rounded highs without sharpness and full bass giving the notes weight. When it comes to the sound , the magic is there, but the one thing this pair lacks is transparency and those tiny details.
As for the price of individual items, I will not comment.
For now, I want to test two more sets and then arrange an audition in Switzerland for the Tobian SC-1+MA100. I think they will easily match, if not surpass, all the previous ones. I'll add that I like them a lot, but damn, how do I choose a cabinet for them, with a height of 54 cm?

Want to try Aries Cerat?

Try the Air Tight atm-300r, it’s more on the neutral side of the sound spectrum.

Of course, as mentioned above, I have plans for the weekend.
I've been using this set every day for many years, so I know what it can do and how it plays, but thank you very much.

Having compared Souga Gakuoh 2 and Kagura in the same room, both Chris (the owner, HesseC) and I preferred the Gakuoh2. Audio crack then auditioned it and bought it, he already had the Kagura and Gakuoh 1. Mtemur will tell you that is the best Kondo too. Also compared Kageki, the 300b Baransu, and Gakuon 1, Ongaku in another room, so far I’ve have found the Gakuoh 2 to be their best. But Kondo needs a lot of set up including power, cables, and obviously records else it can sound very boring.

it also depends on your source strategy. You can make set as neutral or coloured as you want depending on the quality of the records

It's definitely good equipment, but I have to admit that the better the equipment you connect, the better the speakers sound. I was very impressed, and I've heard a lot of speakers. I don't know how to describe it, and I'm not sure if this is the right way to express it in English, but it's like going from a pump to lungs, and the vocals and instruments sound great.

No, thank you, I'm not really fond of this brand's presentation. For me, it's too pushy towards the listener, and while the presentation is cool overall, it gets tiring after a while. That's just my opinion.
Interesting, you are the first person to give me that feedback. Having owned lots of SETs, I can only say that this hasn't been my experience with the brand.

If this was your experience, something was off I dare to say. We're carrying both Tobian and Aries Cerat which mates beautifully when carefully matched with the proper source, cables and accessories in the right setting. Don't count this combo out :)

Phasemation is also worth mentioning if you have access to this brand.

I heard my speakers sing with Nagra VPA, Spec, amp made by Airtight smaller sister company (forgot the name), my new SuperFi amp and of course my own Tobian MA50 300b SETs. I’ve heard them as well at Gunter place with MA100, MA200 and SC1, SC8 and SC12 preamps (which is my long lasting preamp of choice). Speakers sound wonderful with all of the above and one might like this or that more or have inclination towards a particular brand but his electronics with his speakers are just in a perfect sweet spot for my ears (if you want tube stuff).
For the solid state I’m in absolute love with the SuperFi beast so i can play around at my own will.

Thanks, phasemation, I'm testing it right now. You have great equipment in your offer and you're very close to Poland.
Aries Cerat simply don't like, let's just leave it at that.

That's why I'm leaving the Tobian set for last.
I don't see MA50 on the website, so I think it has been discontinued.

Is that a single 300b per mono?
Correct.
Actually just to add a comment here on them not coming from me but rather from a friends of mine who heard quite a few different 300b implementations - “it does not sound like a typical 300b SET with “only” beautiful mids but it rather has on top of mids speed, details, extensions and superb transparency,…”…
And they just said this “only” not in bad sense for 300b but rather that this amp adds other virtues on top of that hence they liked it a lot…(me as well:D)
