The End Of A 35 Year Journey ---Zellaton -The Reference Ultra Final Frontier

Just to add 50cts worth (because I feel it's more than just 2cts...)

It's also a highly personal preference, there's no denying that!
With all the top gear available at various price points, the musical tastes and preferences amongst owners varies so drastically, it's like one prefers lemon ice cream over the regular choc-nut, or similar to one that loves vegemite compared to regular cheese toasties! I think a few years ago, B Obama actually tried vegemite where he was gifted a bottle by one of our Aussie polly's, he said not bad... whereas one of the other chaps nearly threw up!

Same goes with Stevo, who happens to just love the Lamm ML3's, not inclined to change at all. Similarly I prefer KT120 tubes compared to KT150's or KT170's, which to me sound forced. Then again all the top line tube amps coming from CJ, ARC and Jadis are now using either KT150's or KT170's, in push-pull ultra-linear config, and they all sound tops but totally different. And, I'm not inclined to change at all. Just saying
So, when recommending something to anyone who has never even heard the particular combination... they really need to have a listen in person, or better still home trials on their very own systems. That's the ultimate deciding factor.
So, What's the flavor of the week for ice cream? It all depends what YOU like! Simple as that.

Keep those tubes glowing! Oh, for the love of tooobs.
Woof! RJ
A vegemite eh... Lyrics from a song by Men at Work's came to mind...

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscle
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich" :)

Another client install including Plural Evo’s and the incredible Soulution 757 phono, running variable volume direct to amp. Next installment flying in with my tech to install multiple tonearms on an AS Invictus along with cartridges including DS Audio to benefit from the Soulution’s unique optical input. Full Schnerzinger loom. Stay tuned ;)
Was just reading through this blog trying to decide if I want to upgrade my plural evos to reference ultras and bam, a photo of my office appeared. Yes, it’s a bit odd for the pool table placement but there are listening chairs located behind the photo. And yes, music is audible, beautifully throughout the space. My home system is more traditional. I will try to attach a file.

Oh! Aries Cerat gear! The best money can buy. Matched with Magico's, must be mighty fine.
I would also think that Zellaton's would be an outstanding match with Aries Cerat.

The very first time I ever heard Aries Cerat, prior to the demo, I was thinking what possibly could be better than what I've already heard in the past with other top flight gear. And then there's Aries Cerat! My golly, what a wonderful thing! Awe-inspiring experience.

I've come across only a handful of systems and gear that have provided me one of those, "stop the train " moments... Aries Cerat was one of those. Way way out of my reach in my humble finances. For those who can afford such gear, whether or not the purchase is justified is negligible at this ultra-high-end point. Performance is the priority, price is secondary.

Really tops matey, outstanding I must say.
That deserves a mighty WOOF!!!

*Do enjoy those finest tunes*

Where the beer does flow & the men plunder
Can't you hear - can't you hear - the thunder
You'd better run - better take cover...

So happy to welcome our friend Gideon back to the Bluegrass to install my new Burmester 808 making these Plural Evos even better. Easy to admire the expertise.

well finally some news to report. I am now beginning to feel the dawn of this new era. I got word yesterday that barring any hold up in clearing US customs the long wait will be over as the Reference Ultra will hopefully be delivered this Tuesday to chez Williams. Gideon is checking his schedule to take down the amazing Plural Evo speakers which I have had on loan for the past few months and to install the new Reference Ultra.

I have already had requests from 5 members here who want to come meet Gideon and to hear the new speakers. Once I get confirming notifications from the shipper I will reach out to these 5 members.Gideon is suggesting a day of continuous burn in before hosting these 5 members

Ah! That sounds like a great plan Stevo. I'm sure Giddy (Aussie version...) also means well and wants to make sure that those Ultras sound tops!

Either way, burn-in or not, IF those five precious members don't appreciate the fine tooons... then perhaps you & Giddy can also burn those five members along with the intended burn-in process. Uh oh... that sounded bit harsh. Like in those countries that are ruled by strict lunatic regimes!

I wouldn't be bothered for others validation, regardless of proper burn-in or not. If I had purchased these, I'll know exactly what they're capable of. Just enjoy the burn-in process naturally as the speakers progress and gels with your room. Later on those the five dwarfs can visit snow white on another day for validation purposes.

I'm sure they'll sound tops.
Woof to that! RJ

wish you were here RJ
