Symposium Acoustics

I haven’t purchased anything from Peter recently. Then again I have his rack and platforms everywhere. I always found him to be forthcoming by phone or email. I can’t speak to delivery time since it has been a while since I purchased.

IME Peter is great on the phone and couldn't give a rat's ass about technology, that website hasn't changed in 10 years.

kinda feel the same way myself. f*ck technology.

I have been pleasantly surprised to hear that they are still in business. Their ancient website gives the impression that they might have halted operations.

I actually love the "old school" vibe of the company. Peter certainly fits the very epitome of old fashioned customer service.

The design need not be changed to convey proof of life. More frequently incrementing the site last updated date would do that. It was last updated in March of last year. I must admit though that I only just now noticed that so it won’t completely solve the problem. Regardless, glad to hear they are still in business.

...man, you guys have a very different acceptance level of this kind of stuff.

That web site is crap. It looks like a kid made it in 1997. Circular link addresses. Non-functioning links. I searched all over for pricing. There was a note somewhere, IIRC, to select details and drill down.

Having managed new product dev and online dev since the mid-90s, sites like this are not really reasonable in 2025. Not even in 1997, actually.

I am *only* posting for a second time because my customer experience was NOT good, and folks should also have that information...not only that it's "old fashioned" and great service.

I never found pricing. So I emailed:

Hello,

Try as I might, I can't find pricing on your site! I am interested in two of the 9"x9" Svelte-Plus platforms.

I have had a 10x12 for some years now, and I quite like it.

In addition, I have interest in the Super Plus or Ultra platform prices, size: 19" x 21"

This would be to use under my Taiko Olympus server, if that impacts any recommendation you may offer between the models. I believe that device is about 140 lbs.

The Taiko footers have hard acrylic bases. I expect to try your product first with stock footers, but perhaps you prefer your couplers? That 19x21 size comes with four couplers, if I understand correctly.

Lastly, is it possible to pay using PayPal for your products? At the moment, this is most convenient for me.

Thank you for your help. If phone is more convenient for a reply, please find me at:
(deleted by me just now)

I won't post again and will let you guys carry on. No point in me further prolonging the issue. Regards to all...

I cannot deny the validity of criticisms here. Just my 2 cents that Peter's service with me has been second to none.
And that he's worth persevering with.

A manufacturer without pricing on their site seems more like the norm to me? Anyway, you can get a rough idea on pricing by looking at a dealer site.

Not avantgarde but with all necessary info, clear FAQ and guidance. Pricing also at acoustic sounds vinyl webshop

...sure, but when the site says to do X to view pricing, or find price info "here" and it isn't there, it's an irritant.

It's not incumbent on the customer to have an easter-egg hunt on various other sites to find pricing for products, IMO.

Further, in my case, I had technical questions, but the lack of a reply stymied that enquiry.

If you went to a store that was stated to be open from 9 to 5 and the door was locked, would it irritate you? If a store said they sold bananas and when you got there, they didn't sell bananas...would it irritate you? It's more along those lines.

That is...in my opinion. I have moved on, so it's not keeping me up at night. And, please recall: I like and use this product.

Perhaps I’d feel the same. Usually Peter replies within 48 hours to me.

...and I probably shouldn't have even replied above, because it really is irrelevant to me at this point. Of course, I realize I could search other sites looking for prices. And you guys have been fair/realistic in your replies, so no worries on my end. Sometimes things just work out the way they do. Cheers, guys.

Yeah. And unfortunately for us there’s much worse around
