Holger Stein and his wife, Gabby, visited me today. They are very nice!

I thought it was just a listening session, but he sprung on me a participatory demo.

Does anybody have any experience with the Stein Music Ground Cube?

I have no experience with how this works, but would be very interested to know what exactly it does and how it works. I have a faint hum in my system which I cannot seem to sort out. If this device would cure this faint hum I would gladly purchase the device.

This is a device that plugs into any outlet in common with the electrical lines powering the audio components. But before you plug it in you have to use a compass to point it to the North. (It comes with a compass.)

Yet another blacker background device. Is this how you got your system out of the Bermuda Triangle? Heading north? There is a strange tone on your system thread with short cryptic posts but no real information about how you resolved some mysterious issues with your system. Why so coy?

Just to confirm—this is a joke, right?

Eeesh! Why so skeptical? Why so closed-minded?

No, this is not a joke.

I truly tried to keep an open mind. I told Holger that if he would like to send me a cube for a longer trial, I would be open to it.

With my system finally sounding good just two days ago, tweaks are the furthest thing from my mind. I'm just getting the measure of the sound of the system. It was not an opportune time for a tweak demo.

Aren't there a bunch of products which you just plug into the wall outlet in common with your electrical system for the audio system that purport to remove noise and EMI nasties?

What about that iFi AC iPurifier?
