In two systems I use panels and need large foot print amps , mono blocks .
They seem to effect the stage and sound , so I'm planing to place them in a HVAC room behind my listening room . Does anyone else do this ? The speaker cable from amp to speaker is now 5 feet but will be 7 feet to accomplish this task .
The heat they generate is also a concern . Any advice to share on this ?

Hi Al
I think @marty does it like that with his gigantic Gryphon amps.

Class A amps I assume, so regardless of where you place them be sure of adequate ventilation. 5 to 7 foot cables no big deal, how 'bout the IC from preamp to amps ?

Yes Marty does have a room behind his front wall . I did the same , not just for heat but also for acoustics . Both NYC and North Carolina are panels . To me panels do need room behind them . Can be e racks but giant metal amps muck things up .
In NYC my room is 20 feet wide ,9 foot ceilings and 55 feet deep . No matter what I did the giant ml no 33 effected the sound of behind them , even in the middle of them unless mostly in front . I ended up one on each side , just in front .
Down south my room is much smaller only 15 feet wide , 18 deep and 9 foot high ceilings . I'm using apogee diva speakers on two krell amps . If they are behind them it effects image at various sounds .
So placement in the room behind works.
I think panel type speakers need open space that's not so reflective as steel .
I'm using tubes in corners foam inside them .
I'm not done yet but things are much less buggy now
