ordering lampizator GG

Thank you Norman. Yes, that was me. My Balanced Big 7 Lampizator is a game changer. I am done with dacs. It just sounds so natural and organic. It just takes away all the hash, leanness, any sibilants without sounding rolled off or colored.

I love my Lampi. I can not get over how great it sounds. Beautiful music fills my room and has really taken me to another level. Lukasz is a genius

I'm glad you like it.

I had usb upton regen with PS by Teddy Pardo on loan from Elberoth. Very often I agree with you wisnon, but not this time though. I sended it back without regret.
Of course the result will depend very much on specific setup esp the quality of transport .

I didn't like it either in my system. The sound became too thin for my taste, although the resolution undoubtly improved a bit.

It has to be noted though, that my server is far from beeing standard - I have everything on battery or linear PSUs, Jact USB card etc. Over $4000 in parts alone. Marslo on the other hand is using the $18k Aurender W-20.

It is perfectly possible the the net effect will be positive if you are using a less elaborate source, like a stadard Mac Mini or MacBook for example.

Sfox didn't like the uptone on his Lampi either

May be an Amanero USB board thing. I will try it with the Trinity DAC during weekend.

Marslo and Adam,

I missed this post.

Sorry to hear the Regen didnt pan out for you guys. I have the Green and the Corning cable, and perhaps why it worked so well for me. I will get the Amber upgrade soon and see how that fares with normal USB cables.

I orginally tried them with metal base Phillips GZ34 recti and vintage WE 101ds (ST shape) DHTs. Now I am running witth a GE JAN 5r4gy (1954) and new EML 45 mesh plates.

Just picked up my Amber Regen from post office. I will see how it pans out on the AA LaFontaine and then let Mark Coles (Sablon Audio) try it on the GG. I'll post my thoughts in a few days time and hopefully Mark will chime in too.
Apologies for veering a little off the GG track. BTW, I'm using Aries > Sablon Panatela > Amber Regen (with the little adaptor) > AA LaFontaine.
Blue 58

Thanks for that Blue58.

Some very interesting posts you made last week.

I dont know if you know fellow Londoner PhillipAC (audiocircle), but he moved from a Big 5 to a Big 7 and has recently commissioned a GG HEADDAC! Yes, the first one ever and he beat my NYC buddy ALRainbow to the punch. AL has the only B7 HeadDac made and will likely get a GG headDac too in the medium term.

GG Headdac. All I can say is WOW!

Phillip is another all classical guy

Will we all inevitably become GG owners in the long run?:)

I'm waiting for my Amber to arrive. It is supposed to work more like the combination of Regen Green with corning USB optical cable.

I bet this thing would give my Cavalli Liquid Gold a run for its money!!

The Liquid Gold - and Liquid Fire - are hybrid tube/solid state amps designed to provide enough power to drive any planar headphone.
The HeadDAC is more limited in the power department. Sound wise, I would bet on the HeadDAC vs. Cavelli..... :)

Hi Guy

someone mentioned about colour option?

Any knowledge there?

Also any consensus on SE versus Bal

And if you were to get a renderer aries, rendu etc....what would you get as extra input option xlr?

Thx

A

Black face or silver face…I prefer the black with GG and silver with B7.

Balanced for fully Bal system.
