Options for dual subwoofers on hardwood floor

Beautiful system and space! May I enquire about the sculpture in front of the piano? Similar style to a large scale Giacometti. Beautiful...
Thank you John T.
Well, we love to visit often The Fondation Maeght Museum in St Paul de Vence ( South of France) where many sculptures of Giacometti are exposed.
But our Miss Wave is the work of Polish sculptor Stanislaw Wysocki , we have another one from this pair - Miss Wind in our secondary residence. Of course next to the hifi gear;)

I found the page with his CV only in Polish.

Thank you Marslo. After getting a closer look at Miss Wave "similar" is stretching things quite a bit comparing the approach to these two fine artists...

Are you familiar with a beautiful quote by Giacometti: "Seeing, understanding the world, feeling it intensely and expanding our capacity for exploration to the maximum"

No, I did not know that, but will try to learn more about him. Together with Miró , Chagall, Kandinskij and Léger they are stars of Fondation Maeght constant exposition.

You do not have to drill, just put your REL’s on footers for heavy equipment.
I am using Pro Audio Bono 80 SN footers for the front and a full metal brass model for the back, just because I had the latter on hand.
It seems to me that is better than without footers, but the difference is not huge.

What sonic benefit are you getting with footers underneath RELs. They advise against, but of course each set up is unique. Two S/812S here on wooden floor.

I have the 6 pack array on a wood floor. Never tried them with footers or any type of isolation. Clean and tight bass...

I know they do, but I had the impression after installing the footers that the bass is more precise without losing the saturation . After installing them I did not remove them to check, two Carbon Specials are really heavy;)

I had very similar experience with footers under my subs. Once heard there was no going back.

@John T I wonder if the aggregate weight of your subs keeps them "pinned down" to the floor.

On some tracks, my RELs would move. Not all tracks, but some. Not that a guy pushing 70 should be listening to Billy Eilish, Xanny, but I like to keep an open mind.

I had to jump out of my chair to save a sub from dancing off a platform I built for the sub.

Yes, I know...a smarter guy would have hit mute...but I run on instinct sometimes over here. Jump up. Catch the baby. Think about the gators later. Honestly, I have no idea how I have made it this far...

I know the feeling Mark. Reactionary response. I would do the same. Interesting theory that the aggregate weight pins them down. You might be right. I have a small scale wooden canoe on the right side top, not very heavy, and it doesn't move at all. I recently placed it and was wondering if it would move/vibrate. So far no movement.
My floor is tongue and groove pine. The wood isn't exactly flat, like say a piece of MDF. A bit of small cupping. I'm wondering if that imperfection works in my favor. If I had a perfectly smooth platform under the stack I wonder if it perhaps would contribute to movement...

@orange55 @marslo

May I ask what you use for footers? Curious that REL advises against yet provides threads on their base.
I use the Isoacoustic Gaia’s which screw in.

Personally I have found that a number of manufacturers that I have approached for advise on tweaking their kit, such as adding feet to subs. Have rejected the ideas on the grounds they will now make any difference.

Luckily I use my ears. After market fuses and grounding boxes are other areas that were dismissed.

@dgale
I use polish Pro Audio Bono footers for heavy equipment, designed together with our friend audiophile who unfortunately passed away 2 years ago ( he was also at WBF as Sly30) and have had very advanced system.
I have many PAB products , btw I have also Isoacoustic Orea Indigo underneath my Aurender W20.

use the accelerometer in your cell phone and a vibration app to measure the vibes in the floor in the listening position
my 225lbs horn subs set the whole plank floor in motion, easily measurable
mounted them on Rubloc Trisolator and problem is non existing...
