"Good Morning World! Here is the 3rd to last images from the teaser set we have scheduled for you... October 7th all the pieces will be put together."
View attachment 29269

Just as I speculated from an earlier picture, they are using two 4" SCANSPEAK ILLUMINATER midrange drivers.....hardly a world beater driver in a SOTA offering from Wilson, but it can still be quite good if utilized properly and I am confident that Wilson will be able to get the best out of it. My best guess is they are using it around 900 or 1k, up to 2.5 to 3k (it can be used down to 150-200, but based on the two 7" mid bass drivers that won't be the case here). This will allow the only high frequency driver (apparently) to loaf .....although Wilson in the past likes to use their tweeters as low as possible, I don't believe that will be the case with the WAMM.
Cheers...

It appears they are using an articulating mechanical module alignment system after all as the use of "Chronos" suggests. Now I'm wondering if it will be motorized.

Wouldn't magnets in a motor to move speaker components cause interference with the speaker drivers?

That was one of the issues I had with the original WAMM, ( yes I owned a pair back in the day), it would resonate at certain frequencies.....sounded like it was coming from the metal housing or the metal circular pipes that they used to attach the upper modules to the metal support tower, that wasn't properly damped, but that was than, I seriously doubt that will be an issue with the new WAMM, in fact it probably will be quite stunning, as one might expect from Mr Wilson's legacy offering.
Cheers.....

No idea. I'm sure there are workarounds. I mean if a speaker can be made to not interfere with a TV's CRT then I guess anything's workable.

its all interesting speculation

what do we know so far...

Its big and probably very very expensive

it uses cheerful tweeters and midrange from scanspeak... no revolution or SOTA there

it is using a mechanical system of midrange and tweeter driver alignment ??? motorised cannot see that but maybe....

It looks aesthetically like a bigger version of things gone by.......

No surprises so far

The sides could be an engineers delight or interior decorators nightmare... Aesthetically challenged maybe ? unless you go for naked mechanics

I admire Wilson audio dedication

But so far

Magnum opus.... magnum yes ....ultra ...no ?!

I love Wilson speakers but really, what campy background music and content on this video.....come on Wilson, you're a speaker designer, not Mozart, Rossini, etc.....
Give us the engineering facts and details. A serenade we can do without.......

And I think the speaker looks awesome!

I'm guessing we'll never see measurements for these.

what will that prove...they measure well ??? whatever that means...

I am always entertained by the Magico fan boys chiming in with their Wilson jabs...lol

Wasn't so much a jab as a comment with something that large, it probably won't be feasible for someone like JA to measure.

I like measurements is all.
