Any info on this new Cessaro speaker?

Yes sounding quit good / airy horn high freq.
But as far as i could see there is only a high freq horn involved.
Scan speak midrange.
Looks like a 12 cm unit from the illuminattor range.
Measures very good ,flat like a ruler

Yes but if they have to make a living they have to produce something worthwhile, not just charge a sticker. That was my point. If the job market is tough, and you charge a million for arranging appointments that one can at a receptionist's salary, no one is going to hire you. You have to justify your job and price ask. The fact that you have to earn a living is not an answer. The high prices at the moment in 99% of the cases are doing nothing, they are just stickers. What you are actually proposing is charity, we should feed the high prices because the industry is tough. If you are going to be so kind I will try to make up something soon that may not sound great, might break, but will have a high price.

Not my point at all. I'd contend that for the most part a lot of investment has been poured into highend to produce cutting edge product, exceptions of course. Whether what's been achieved is to one's taste is down to the individual but there's no denying that the high investment needs covered by potentially very low sales volume which = high prices. Clearly much of it isn't to your taste, that's fair enough!

if you are talking about D'Agostino, I am with you. It is exactly the opposite of what I want in my system.

I meant both actually , the system .

After listening to many many Wilson set ups incl also VTL this time.
I think the main issue i have with the sound is in the speakers itself .
But hey the people flocked to hear the rooms so who am i to critisize.

By the way the room with the rockports in which you re panel was placed had very nice airy Acoustics.
It sounded better then the audioquest rockport room
Thank you for noticing. It has been reiterated by others as well. That diffuser is working from 1khz to 16khz and has no diffraction like 99% of other diffusers. The gradual change in height also diffuses smoother. These are not randomly made, it is a quadratic diffusor but is interpolated of its centers of each rectangular pieces top center. The only ones that have no edges like mine and are also organic quadratic diffusers are built out of plastic. At this point in time, I believe, they are the only ones of their kind.

At the HiFi Deluxe venue there was an outstanding sounding speaker: the Marco Serri Design "Gladiator" speaker (ugh, to the name!). Huge, imposing, distinct looking (and ugly, to me) speaker of high efficiency and high impedance that sang full range and evenly. I heard almost nothing to quibble with on this new entrant! They were driven by a complete chain of electronics and cabling by the same company. SET amps. Truly lovely sound, and very impressive. Pretty f'ing expensive (I believe they said MSRP of 285k EUR). One to watch, though. ~750 lbs. and 7 feet high.
Amps were hybrid

Here are some WE12b movies from the show. Even if you do not see them on screen, it is them playing but I am sitting in the front row center and camera lens can not cover the span.

You don't know what love is excerpt

Cantate Domino, Christmas Song excerpt. When the whole choir joins you hear what it is all about. None of the systems at the show had this!

Whole lotta love, Led Zeppelin
I also recorded the Cantate Domino but not as good a seat as you! Will post soon all my recordings that I made with the Zoom IQ7 plugged into my Iphone.

The “small” Cessaro I think is just over 30K Euro, and you can add a subwoofer for just over 8K

Add the new integrated triodefet from Aries Cerat at ~22K:

View attachment 110397

And you do have a somewhat reasonably priced “true high-end” system, IMHO.
Those two were my "best buys" of the show! Along with the Grandinote system, which clocked in at under 50K total. Also, the TotalDAC system (if you only used one amp) was by this show's standard a "good value".

Special offering to cater to people who want a bit of the "Cessaro" sound without quite the sticker shock. It is 90dB sensitivity, which is good but not what I would call high sensitivity. Still, in a normal room you won't need too much power to drive it.

i think your investment in being an ultimate hifi traveler, and being exposed to so much DIY gear, skews your view to a degree. you see what rooms and set-ups do to vary the end result beyond anyone. which then result in your personal ROI hierarchy.

hard for you to 'un-hear' all those experiences and understandable for that to factor in your view.

i'm not saying you are wrong, only that it's one way to view things. i could argue you have the best most informed view. and i agree some products are a high percentage bling-bling without true musical ROI. but that's relatively always been the case. but there is also more true 'shoot for the moon' efforts going on which pulls everything forward. the hobby is well served by that process. but if 50-80 year old tech is the ultimate for you, then i respect that. we don't all have to have the same truths. our experiences are different.

Those two were my "best buys" of the show

[1. The “small” Cessaro [Wagner] I think is just over 30K Euro, and you can add a subwoofer for just over 8K
2. the new integrated triodefet from Aries Cerat at ~22K]

Funny,
1. I was really interested by a used pair of "little" Cessaro Chopin (previous model of the Wagner), in order to go horns. But did not dare finally.

2. One year ago, I prompted Aries Cerat to produce an "affordable" integrated amplifier into the case of an Incito preamplifier, not bigger. Maybe a coincidence (price and technology used here do surprise me though).

No I am not bringing my personal ROI here. I do have a ROI hierarchy for personal investment which is a different point. I am flat out saying that costly set ups/components result in no further upswing, even can be downhill, after a certain point, and that there is no advancement in sonics. There is no desire to own them. It is all fun finding out what the next thing is and curiosity like trying the new restaurant on the block, but no desire to go back in

I think I heard 230k for the turntable and 39k for the tonearm.
As opposed to the tag of £325k to incl two arms and stand, touted a few years back.

Very interesting, do you guys know about the woofer size and the price (and if the enclosure is ported or sealed)?
Must sound very good, seems very well designed at first glance. The idea of mating the small Scanspeak midrange to the horn is great IMO.

Oh and the Crystal Cable speakers are definitely nice, the enclosure design is great and the crossover tech extremely interesting and very smart.

THe new amp was REALLY good sounding...within speaking distance (closer than shouting distance) of the big boys.

I certainly agree with the Luxury Brand element invading this market. Tidal closed their doors to consumers on Day 3, and on Day 4 they won't let mere consumers hear their flagship Bugatti (name!) offering, saving that for audio royalty only. So consciously cultivating exclusivity that it is offensive. It's a bad look, but they must have decided that it works for them. Weird to me.
i am pretty sure it will harm them
