Plenty of bass, and well integrated with the other frequencies. Agree, there's no need for a sub. I'm not a bass-aholic, even though I ran Infinity Betas with those big woofer towers. I find the bass on these 30.7's much more pleasing. The Betas were really two speaker systems: a midrange and a woofer system. Do you know anything about Wendell's remark that they would make their woofer modules of the 30.7 mini available for other speakers? Do you know the latest status of the mini 30.7? I last spoke with Wendell in October and he mentioned them but I didn't pursue the topic.
no I haven’t heard anything except that there will be a mini 30.7s with open baffled dynamic bass drivers.

It all comes down to personal taste.i tried out a few amplifiers and mcintosh was the best to my ears.
I have plenty of McIntosh stuff, and like it very much. 2 MR-78 tuners, an MHA 200 headphone amp, original C-30 pre and recently refurbished MC2255 amp. In fact, I will drive my 1.7i's at least initially with the MC2255. Will also try the 1.7i's with my CJ Premier 8's.

I heard the iris betas many times and there a good speaker, but the bass is exaggerated.i am with you I perfer the more natural bass on the 30.7s.

FWIW, I grabbed a pic of the 30.7 mini's and annotated it. The midrange is standing there to the left of the LRS, and the woofer tower is sort of hiding behind that wine rack sort of thing. I was curious about those mini's because they might let me spread out my 30.7 mids even wider.

I wonder if Magnapan will go ahead with them.i haven’t heard anything for 2 years now.

For me, personally, I would consider any of the following amplifiers to be final decision/"destination" amplifiers to drive Magnepan loudspeakers:

ARC 750SE*
VAC 450
VTL Siegfried II*

Absolare Hybrid
Aesthetix Atlas Eclipse*
Lamm M2.2

*I have heard and enjoyed numerous times these amplifiers driving my friend's 20.7s.
Wish I had your room size, but can't rebuild my house for my system. My room is 15'x20' roughly. Bigger is better here, but I don't feel badly constrained. The 30.7's open up quite nicely here.

I feel strongly that ARC 160 is not nearly enough power. There's a reason I picked 750 watt amplifiers to answer your question.

If you like ARC then the ARC 750 is the right medicine for this job.

I suspected as much with the ARC 160. I haven't had an ARC amp since I had my Classic 150's way back when. I liked the amps, but they were unreliable. I now have a Ref 3 phono stage which I like very much, and I've been pleased with ARC communications and support. I've always valued service, support and in general just communications with the company very highly. For example, I've never been disappointed with McIntosh service and support. I may ultimately retire my McIntosh stuff, but would hate to sell it.

I don't see a problem with that room size. I had Maggies a long time ago and found they did really well in a shoebox shaped room. Hafler 500 amp.

I don’t find the 30.7s that hard to drive.i use no more than 5 watts of power for comfortable listening level.
What amp is that? I haven't driven my Maggies with less than 100 watts and going up to 150 tube watts is the best so far.

Me neither. I had 20.7 with Mac 601 monos. The maggies used a bunch of power to get lively.

Finally, after months of waiting, my friend with the 30.7s sent me an invitation to visit his listening room. Simply stunning, everything I expected them to be, improvements over my 3.7i by a very wide margin. Detailing is incredible, I really heard more things I never heard on a record that I am so familiar with. Texture, tonal qualities, scale, width are all top notch. It's really something for me to strive for, only I have to find another house with a huge room. :D

While it was a prototype at the time, I've mentioned before that hearing the 30.7s on a Magnepan dealer tour in 2018 presented some of the worst sound I've ever heard from a speaker in my life, with weird phase issues and other problems. (For example, the instruments had good presentation but somehow Sinatra's vocal was weird, appearing diffuse and not at all focused when on that track, it should be razor sharp and locked.)

I also mentioned they were actively messing with the crossovers during the demo using bare coils and standard alligator clip jumpers (!).

I finally found the photos I took of the event ("without pics it didn't happen), so:
