What is the price of the M12 Gold Switch in the USA?
Rhapsody.Audio sells them for $4800 including all shipping/import.

From John Darko's review:

At one end of each cable, we note an MFP8 Gold RJ45 plug, as made by Telegärtner, which click-clip into downstream or upstream devices. At the other end, something different. An industrial-type ‘M12 X-coded’ plug which we take care to align its L-shaped quarter with that of the matching socket before pressing down firmly and screwing the plug into place. The accompanying 12V/2A ‘medical’ power supply’s umbilical screws into place in a similar fashion. Plastic dummy plugs are screwed into unused sockets. Once that’s all done, it’s done.

He tells me that the 6a version sounds marginally better still and - here’s the value proposition - you could likely drive two devices off that using a siamesed / co-joined dc cable. I like his stackable design also, which allows you to run multiple devices off a single power cord with a modest footprint.

I have his stackable one with two 2A/12V outputs off one power cord hence my hope, now dashed on the rocks, that one could power a M12 whilst the other is already powering a Melco S100...

Don’t worry Howie, it’ll still be better than the stock smps! Have a nice dc cable for best sound quality, Ben or James will have something to offer you.

James at Plixir recommends his 4a lps over the 2a model for better sound quality on the TG switch.
My view too!

Here is the included smps of M12 Gold switch :

It's labelled 12V 2.5A.

SMPS has higher efficiency than LPS.
Also, it's preferable for a LPS to have a 2-3X capacity as headroom/buffer.
A LPS of 4A or more is the right choice.

How much the Power Consumption of M12 Gold Switch?

Will the LPS with 12V-2A be enough to power it?

12V/2A is OK.
My Optimo 3 Duo has 12V/3A per output. The overall design and components of the PSU are more important than higher current for the m12 switch imho.

This is the setup to beat:

A little googling reveals that the power consumption of the switch is 6 watts, hence 1/2 amp of current at 12 volts. This would remain the same for either smps or lps, so theoretically even 2a continuous output should give plenty of headroom.

I am using plixir elite 12V/2A. When I demo the switch with 12V/6A plixir, personally I didn’t notice any big difference.

Fellow audiophiles that have experience with the TG M12 Gold switch,

I currently connect my fiber cable modem (powered by a good LPS) directly to the Innuos Zenith Statement, and it sounds great. I have never tested an audiophile switch (and it would be difficult to test before purchasing because I live in Brazil).

What do you expect would be the sonic changes if I insert a TG M12 Gold Switch (with LPS and good cable) between the cable modem and the Innuos? Feel free to send me a private message if you prefer.

Thanks,

VPN

We have customers requesting to use both our 1.1A UltraCap LPS-1.2 and our big choke-filtered, dual-output, 5~7.4A JS-2 with the M12 Gold/TG switch. Can someone please post a link to exact/correct circular screw-on plug for the DC power connection?
(Would even be nice to know the pin-out/polarity, but I'll be happy to start just with the connector spec.)

Thanks very much!

Good PSU is important for M12 to shine . Inserted JCAT OPTIMO PSU to the system with a pair of beautifully made DC cable. What a transformation in SQ !!! The improvement is much more compared to double M12 in series

Very nice set up, thank you for sharing the pictures. Couple of questions: what brand of the DC cables and could you share where you got them from? Secondly what is the equipment next to the power supply unit? Thanks
