Lukasz Has Done It Again

As Doug MacLeod would say in "A Little Sin" "you gotta pay to play"...

The only thing I have not discussed but will after others who attended get a change to post their observation is "tube rolling"

As I have said before tube rolling is alive and well with Aphrodite

On Friday afternoon there were 8 of us who spent 3-4 hours doing an A-B=A test on the stock tubes vs my stash of NOS vintage tubes in the power and output sections of Aphrodite as well as comparing my rectifiers against the stock rectifiers provided

What I will say is how important it is to do an A-B-A rather than an A-B test when tube rolling to make a true evaluation

Also we did an A-B-A test changing the KT88 stock tubes from front to back row of Aphrodite (back row is power and front row is output)...That was a true revelation as was tube rolling the entire afternoon

The important question is what tubes will you be using going forward?

Does anyone know how to copy a ROON playlist and paste or move it here? I’ve tried several times and so far I’m only able to move it inside ROON.
I'm far from the person who is good with this kind of thing but I think you go to the 3 dots and copy to another file location?????

I wanted to express how grateful I am for the possibility to participate in such memorable event. Thanks to our hosts Cathy and Steve, to Fred, who flew all the way from the very other end of USA, to all guests who infused me with ideas and observations. Without events like this I CAN NOT innovate and build stellar products. I am deeply honored.
Lukasz talking with you at this past weekend was truly one of the highlights of the whole get together. Obviously I am throughly impressed with the Aphrodite’s sound and eagerly await mine arriving in several weeks, speaking with you added incredibly to the entire experience. When I got home at 3 AM and saw my 360 on my rack, it looked different, not just because its days in my system are numbered, but because the Aphrodite sounds to much better. When I recently upgraded my Horizon to a 360, I already knew its life in my system would be short because of the of the Aphoridte’s upcoming arrival , but with the 360 upgrade my listening change because it was so much more listenable and able to transport me to my desired audio and mental state

Talking with you about your perspective and you thoughts on the sound really enhanced my thinking

It was a great meal with great company and conversation
Russ, I am so happy that you decided to take the few days off and come out to SoCal. It was great to see you and rekindle memories. I know how excited you are to get your Aphrodite

If this is just for display how about a screenshot?

I hope Steve figures it out as we just gave him the iPad and said it’s all yours. He had the best music

This will be a long one, so fair warning :)

Thank you Steve for the incredible opportunity to attened such an extraodinary and wonderfully executed event.

None of the invisible work/time and effort of organizing it is lost on me. From helpfully and diligently responding to RSVPs and questions to the food prep, refreshments and patience of all hosts involved. You made it look effortless.

All of you Fred, Łukasz, Russ, Kathy and of course you Steve were incredibly friendly, open and welcoming. It's been such an honor to meet, dine and converse with all of you as well as listen to stories and conversations with who I consider very interesting, driven and truly passionate people -who have insurmountable amount of knowledge and experience in the subject of state-of-the-art audio reproduction.

(Sorry for not crediting people I met on Saturday, I was tired and don't want to forget to mention anyone)

It's no coincidence Lampizator DAC's sound exceptional as is evident by all the interest around them. They're made with such attention to detail and with the pursuit of pushing the boundries of what is possible in the playback of digital files.
The people at Lampizator really love what they do and it shows, the sound speaks for itself IMO.

If anyone's interested in a high end DAC, this would be my pick. You can discard my opinion and not take it seriously, after all who am I to have any authority on what's good, let alone a good pick for you.

As for the Aphrodite itself;
I will say that having heard many high end DACs, none have impressed me as much with meeting my criteria of -a full, authoritative sound with a delicacy and finesse, transparency, speed and (I hestitate to say most importantly as these things are very important to me) texture and sense of space.

Steve's room with its acoustics treatments , Lamm amps and great synergy of cables and anti-vibration- combined with the Zellaton speakers with their incredibly fast, super light cones and truly exceptional crossovers and cabinet acoustics really let the Aphrodite shine and show the whole world of micro-dynamics that live on a recording. The incredibly powerful, fast, controlled and textured bass, to me was nothing short of extraordinary.

The sound to me was emotionally engaging and surprisingly non-fatiguing despite high SPLs which are not my cup of tea and not something I'm used to.

The fact I didn't want to stop listening even at much higher levels than I'd normally do speaks volumes to me, as that only happened a handful of times. And never with playing digital.

Concluding, I'm not going to claim any bests as it's impossible to know everything and I don't want to speak ill of any other manufacturers -after all they're all people sharing my interests and they all bring their ideas and passion.
But having closely watched the Lampizator company and Łukasz's efforts for the last three years I'm extremely impressed with the quality of their products.
They checks all my boxes and I'd be surprised if you were disappointed with this DAC.
I'd check the source playing before blaming the DAC.

Contratulations on making a product like that a finished, producible reality -that's no small feat. Kudos Łukasz and team.

Cheers
Andrew

Andrew, indeed it was a true pleasure to meet you. A true audiophile at age 27 who decided that he wanted to meet lukasz and even though he lives in Poland, Andrew decided to take the trip alone from Warsaw to Southern California and hop on a train to Orange County. I see members like Andrew as the future of high end audio. Andrew was a very quiet guest but I could see his mind was like a sieve as he took it all in. He has a very keen ear and was warmly welcomed by all guests who attended. Andrew even managed to get a ride from the hotel to my home as we were pulling in to pick up Steve Rowan at the hotel when Andrew texted ne to come for a listen. . What a feat getting 7 grown adults into my Tesla for a ride back to my home

Andrew you were a very quiet attendee but talking to you throughout the weekend I could tell you had a keen ear and knew what you were talking about

It was a pleasure to have met you

Turns out Andrew lives very close to Lukasz but his goal was to meet him here,.....

What a beautiful post, thank you.

i think you need the Roon phone app. not done it myself but a local listening buddy is able to do it. he was able to access his playlist in my system.
It's very easy from a Windows laptop (but I haven't figured it out for my iPad). You don't need to have created the playlist on the Windows machine; just connect it to the same Roon server that the playlist was created on.
>On a Windows laptop, just open the playlist and click the three-dot menu link that's at the upper right.
>Select "Export"
>Select "Excel"
I've attached a screenshot of the first few lines of one of my playlists so you can see the result...

On iphone no luck
Android tablet no luck

I will try using my Windows PC. It would be great if ROON would let me send and share the playlist to others like you can do with a normal album you’d like to share with friends.

Steven Rowan's Playlist Finally
S Rowan_s Playlist.csv

Please click on the above link and it should take you to the list of tracks.
That's the best I can do right now. It would be better if I could get Roon to copy the playlist to the site and then it could be imported into Roon.
i would ask Roon but you probably know how that goes . . . .
