Have you seen a Pacific DAC in the flesh?
I seriously doubt it.
The Pacific is not just another step above the Golden Series:
Sonically AND aestetically the Pacific is waaaaayyyy above
Hi Christoph, I was referring to the GG, as a response to bonzo's suggestion. The Pacific looks much better built, although a bit too "blingey" for my taste. However, the Pacific in it's balanced configuration costs ~$30K, which is way above my budget.
The Bartok and the clock (which I intended to stack) take much smaller space than any of the discussed Lampizator models, and do not require as much ventilation as the large tubes on the GG require...

But then again, it depends on the Output tube type if it needs serious ventilation.
The 300b gets fairly hot, while the 45 gets barely handwarm.
The recti is driven full throttle and also gets rather warm.
I like the view from your window! The Pacific looks nice, again, not my cup of tea style-wise (as are the Aries Cerat in the background).
I have an all-balanced setup, so going for the SE version will not produce the best possible result.

All good, not everyone has the same taste. Neither sonically nor aesthetically
To be completely honest, I don't fancy the look of the AC gear too much myself
