I am messing with my open baffle speakers. I upgraded the horn speaker to a coax speaker. Now I am upgrading the high frequency driver of the coax. In doing this, I am looking to use my old horn instead of the high frequency coax that is through the center of the 10 inch driver.
I can not use the existing through the center of the 10 inch horn as the throat is 1 inch and the new CD is 1.4 inch.
Couple questions.
How critical is it to keep the high frequency horn as close as possible to the midrange driver to aid in cohesion.
What sort of issues am I going to have with the overhang of the high frequency horn and midrange driver. As in, there seems to be a very reflective surface over the top of the midrange driver.
The second question relates to the first. If I made a new baffle and brought the high frequency horn very close to the midrange, would the overhang become more a reflective issue.
