It is a shame that so many people have blown off your suggestion because it makes a huge difference as it should since your skin is a huge antenna and loaded with pressure sensors. The glasses comment also makes sense for two reasons: 1) the disruption of the waves in front of one's ears clearly alters the sound--try it; and 2) there are a number of studies that suggest that metal bridges on glasses or anything metal that crosses the midline have a very negative impact on neurological cohesiveness.

Write me off as nuts, but I try to listen naked whenever I can and try to never wear glasses in any important sound scenario!

I have done it in the past ... and do often take my glasses of ... The current situation with a living room as Listening room is not favorable to such experimentation... No cosmic reasons to do it just the freedom of being able to walk in my own skin in my own place ...

Russ, you are of course correct! And there's a variety of other receptors in our skin too. The basic point I was trying to make is that our brain integrates stimuli from a variety of sources for all of our senses (not to mention motor skills).

Same goes for vision. We all know what happens when you listen in the dark. Or try dining in the dark. It sheds a lot of light on how we eat.

And one wonders how a deaf composer can turn out an unforgettable symphony?
