I met another person a few years ago who did this as well. He went through many crossover iterations with his speakers to dial in the sound he wanted. I never got to hear his system though. My concern is that it sounds like a lot of crossover parts would be necesary.

Adjusting the speakers’ crossovers to tune the overall sound of the system is an iterative process until the target sound is achieved. Many use a digital crossover during the experimentation phase before committing to the analog crossover. I have implemented adjustable analog crossovers on my new reference horn system so that I’m not locked in. The resultant sound of this approach achieves the objective but the system-Remastering approach is a more elegant solution, when it can be implemented. Performing adjustments to the crossovers, to dial in the overall system sound, has become my alternative approach.
