May I ask a serious question? Where is the listening position/room? Is it in the A frame behind the windows we see?

Is there a consistent signature to different metals across this, techdas, etc for the platter?
Theres a base sound which is from turntable that detemines the foundation for everything the platters further tune the sound for different flavors but the basic character of AF1 remains the same.

The culture and education is no longer there and this was a very specific area where art & engineering come together. You can say that for recordings too, the old guard is gone and digital changed everything...

Have to agree with David here.....Sound quality of course but then the aesthetics would have become an issue. There’s an upper platter which can be ordered in copper, Ti or other metals if one wishes.
Imagine this in tarnished copper or gold, urrrrrgh!

Some modern digital recordings are excellent sounding, surely different from the old guard, but IMHO not inferior.

The main reason for changes were time and budget constraints - it was not possible to keep orchestras working for such long recording time, sound engineers could not afford to experiment and optimize.
Art and engineering to build such speakers would still exist if there was a solid demand for such products.
Dave, and not forgetting when air bearing linear arms were all forsaken for those lesser pivoted arms...?
ever tried true horn subs ?......was the icing on the cake in my system, even though they come in @75

I came from AG Trios with custom BR matrix cabinets with 4x15 from Bert Doppenberg in NLWow.....they look amazing.
Congratulations. Perhaps you could start a Thread explaining the design and construction of these beauties..?
At Munich this year, I heard for the first time....the triple-stacked BassHorns with the Avante-Garde Trios and was blown away.
Nothing is as convincing as horn-loaded bass. The 'air' is exactly what bass reproduction needs IMO.
Normal subwoofers are unnaturally 'constricted' (and I've had various pairs integrated in my system for nearly 20 years) giving deep 'punch' and filling out the frequency response, but adding nothing to the illusion of reality.
You can hear the difference between BassHorns and dynamic subs when you compare the Living Voice Vox Palladians with the Cessaro Gamma II and Avard-Garde Trios with BassHorns.
Would love to see the rest of your system.....![]()
