Last night I changed resistors on my Alexia Vs. Midrange much fuller sounding again. Worthwhile maintenance task to do every 1-2 years depending on the number of hours.
Unlike most speaker companies, Wilson give their customers an endless playground (driver angle,, resistors, spikes) - is it good or bad, that's personal preference.
Me, I like things simple, or let me live in wall garden, play music and play less with components.
I wonder what sound you get if using different spec resistors.
Wilson has newish screws for both the resistor attachment screw and also the gold nut that holds the X of wires to the binding post. Both are knurled on the side and designed to be tightened by hand pressure only. A really nice upgrade over using two hand tools in the previous configuration.

Debby Wilson, daughter and one time employee, recommended that the resistors be replaced regularly… I think it was even more frequent than an annual schedule, but I may remember this incorrectly.
When I got my Sasha DAWs, I bought an extra set. I then asked Wilson service about the idea and was told: If the speakers have been played really really loud, it can make a difference. The service rep went on too tell an anecdote about a pair that had been accidentally hooked up to an amp set at maximum volume. He said that after this event, the speakers still played seemingly OK, but that replacing the resistors had given an easily recognized improvement.
