Inspired by another thread in this forum. There are some great "music movies" out there. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Bird" Clint Eastwood

Sid and Nancy

The Commitments
It's All Gone Pete Tong

Payday -- a great small movie starring Rip Torn as a second tier country singer. Truly worth seeking out.

"It Might Get Loud"

Excellent documentary! :) ...A Must Have Blu-ray in your collection of Musical Video Documentaries.

Also: JEFF BECK performing this week ...live at Ronnie Scott's. On Blu-ray of course.
...But then, it ain't a movie, it's a Musical Concert. :)

I love documentaries, especially about music. Here are a few other good ones:

"End of The Century" about the Ramones:

"A Great Day In Harlem" fabulous film about an iconic photograph:

"The Future Is Unwritten" about Joe Strummer & the Clash:

Does Hairspray and Mary Poppins count :)
More seriously I do enjoy broadway musical adaptations such as Chicago, and what are peoples thoughts on old classics such as West Side Story, etc.

Cheers

HI Orb,
I love West Side Story. The dancing was the best. Also, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music. In general, I really like many of the old musicals such as Oklahoma and South Pacific. Great stuff.
