While I know some about the 2nd Version SAMA, and since I own one, I understand what it is, and I've peeked inside.

But I'm trying to gain knowledge about the earlier 1st Version that was Cyndrical in shape.

I'm trying to help an acquaintance who acquired a MK-IV Table, and it evidently comes with this motor.

I think I once read this motor weighed something like 17-18 lbs?
Was a Hurst Motor used in this application? I can also seem to remember that the motor was somehow "potted" with some material? Is that correct?

The person tells me that the Drive Pulley on the Drive Motor was a clear plastic? Not metal, or Black Delrin-etc.

Any other information that both the Minds at VPI, and you owners can share , please chime in if you can. Thanks! Mark
