* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

* A must see. This Blu-ray flick (film content/values and artistic/technical aspects; audio & visuals) est sans aucun reproche (is of great merit).
- Directed by Luc Besson, the Frenchman.

I know it wasn't reviewed or did well but I liked it. Cinematography were good, music too. Cruise as the lead was very good IMHO, I liked his char. The supporting cast Duvall, Pike & Herzog worked well. I wouldn't mind seeing another film based on the character.

I saw it couple times back this spring and summer Ron. I liked it too; the bad guys were good (meaning methodically bad),
Tom is short (real-life stature), and the car chase/race was my favorite scene (vrooom-vrooom-vrooom). :b

* I'm sure there'll be more to come; a series ...

I'm tempted to see this; however, the last actor I'd have envisioned playing that part would be Tom Cruise.

I was not familiar with Childs's novels, so I didn't have that issue.

Last night I revisited this flick; mainly for the cinematography (superb natural colors and skin tones), and also for Angelina's pure beauty ::

-> The film itself (storyline and acting) has no real true merit per se (entertainment value).
And the music score by James Newton Howard is nothing special or memorable.
- It is the fine picture quality and details (photography, natural colors, decors, locales, faces, ...) here that is the main attraction.
And on Blu it sure does shine appropriately so.
