Cartridge Screws

Hmm, and a salutary warning on their use as well.
My Q is, are there titanium bolts...and TITANIUM bolts?
I mean some are cheap (unbranded), some not so cheap (usual suspects).

Yes there are titanium bolts and screws and I’m using them. Ex. Techdas.

I heard that plastic screws and nuts were the most transparent. I was thinking about trying them with an OriginLive Cartridge Enabler.

I like the results I get from cap head hex titanium screws with various different carts and headshells.

Torque though seems to have quite a bit of influence sonically. I often use a washer under the screw head too to increase bearing surface and alleviate any pitting. Cartridge body material and fastener implementation can be an issue on how tight you can go. Tight but not too tight seems to be the way to be the rule. Perhaps an incremental torque driver in my tool kit might offer some feedback… Other threads have explored deeper the idea of resonant frequency of the cart/screw/headshell/tonearm assembly and over tightening these screws.

An old WBF thread but may still be useful on the topic of cartridge mounting screws of which the tightening force of the mounting screws may be more important than the actual material the screws are made from !;
