Jazz with vibraphone, tenor sax, guitar, piano seems very real with the right dimension, really shocked and also chamber music very natural

I used to have a pair and foolishly sold them for the Model 3's many many years ago - the X model is truly excellent especially if they have been updated with modern parts for reliability.

Congratulations!

Since, I have moved to 2 pairs of Beveridges with the similar OTL direct drive concept which in many ways is hard to beat with a pair of Gibralter subs.

Its hard to believe how much we have "progressed " in 40+ years....

The other part of the hobby for me is the classic vintage-everything I was too young for!

—-Back to your wonderful model X’s

I had owned and loved Acoustat III.
Acoustat X is a legend, enjoy!

I bought new and used the Acoustat X ELS speaker/amplifiers for quite a few years, after a pair of Quads and a quad of Quads, Magneplaner Tympani Ia & 3a, Dahlquist DQ10s. I recall (perhaps incorrectly) Acoustat offered and I converted the original three panel per speaker configuration, to a four panel configuration upgrade kit. I found them to be very good speakers, but after a few years I found the amplifiers were not always reliable. Later, I purchased a pair of Acoustat Model 4 (four panels per side in a flat configuration w/transformer) and I use them in a tv/streaming auxiliary system. I'd speculate this model has a more linear frequency response than the original speaker/direct couple amplifier model. A few years ago, I had the Model 4 transformers refurbished by:
Roy A. Esposito – Acoustat Specialist (Nationwide Service)
Expertise: Former Acoustat employee; specializes in restoring and upgrading Acoustat MK and Spectra interfaces, including transformer rebuilds

  • Reputation: Widely regarded as the top expert for Acoustat ESL systems; highly recommended by Audiokarma and DIYAudio communities
  • Note: He’s often booked 6–8 months in advance, but his work is considered worth the wait

...and they are to this day performing flawlessly.

I loved my model 6's ( 6 panels per side). That takes me down memory lane . Fabulous sound
