Hmmm
This one is becoming a recurring theme Jim
I can relate to this after a hot New England Summer without air conditioning and my big Pass Class A monoblocks. Very funny.
Nice
Yes, that's funny. Less amp heat was one of the prime considerations, and a very practical one, why eventually I decided not to audition Octave MRE 220 monoblocks (8 power tubes total), but instead for the same money bought the Octave RE 320 amp (4 power tubes) and upgraded my subwoofer system. I am glad about my choice!
The summer was very bearable with this class AB pentode amp in my listening room without air conditioning, unlike with my old class A triode monoblocks (only 15 W/ch, but enormous heat from those eight 2A3 tubes, with ca. 300 W power consumption per channel).
