Hello, lloydelee21. I still find it hard to believe that I was running the mixing board for David Grohl and the band when he was in high school with me. That, and someone I knew way back in the day actually has an MSFL album out there today. Back then, he was just "one of the guys".

very cool! I know a guy who runs his own insurance brokerage firm...he and his girlfriend both started out at a school for the performing arts. He used to do weekend jam sessions in the garage with Norah Jones and his other classmates! neat stuff.

My old piano teacher was an absolute master...totally old school. We used to call Madame Marcault as she was from France and thought people could possibly be cultured if they spoke 7 languages. (She did.) In any event, she played with Vladimir Horowitz in concerts...when i last saw her many years ago, she was about 87, still had perfect pitch and her living room had two enormous Steinways in them...and she was still incredibly strong and vibrant! Her mother lived to a 100, i believe. Great stories...

A little smattering of cool stuff. The boys were playing air guitar.

I picked up the Gould State of Wonder 55 & 81 that Bob listed.

I have the 55 & 81 in vinyl, but they no longer get played. The 55 was my Dad's, I picked up the 81. I do have the Zenph, really liked that one a lot initially, but after awhile the re-performance started to drive me nuts. Like this cd set quite a bit. Haven't had it that long so sometimes I prefer the 55 at other times the 81. This will definitely get played quite bit.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (2011 remaster)

Finished listening to Side 1 of both the new remaster and one of my orginal Canadian/US pressings. The 2011 vinyl remaster is very nice. It is well-packaged, good quality and very quiet, although it suffered from the odd pop now and again at the beginning. I think if you're one that doesn't own the orginal vinyl this is a worthwhile pressing to get. However, the orginal is more vibrant and airy. I think the top-end has been sacrificed on the remaster, which to me gives it a "thicker" sound. "Muddy" could be a word to describe that.

All in all, the remaster is not a bad pressing and some may prefer it (much like some prefer the new TFTT vinyl). I can live with both, but prefer the orginal.

Most of this was over in the new purchase thread...

Tank Full of Blues - Dion

I'm a big fan of Dion's blues disc. All highly recommended
The others are Bronx in Blue, Son of Skip James

Tank Full is the latest and has mostly newly co-penned songs that are awfully good IMHO.
His axe playing keeps getting better, that doesn't hurt either.

good to know...i had read someone else say the EXACT same thing...at first Zenph sounds great...then after while something about it bugs you. I have Rachmaninoff playing Rachmaninoff on Zenph...the original live recording quality is terrible so i went with Zenph...very good, but i am not drawn to pull it out often like i do with Vladimir Horowitz or Murray perhraia or Angela Murray. maybe now, i know why...

IF you guys can play the multichannel layer, you're in for a treat! Been over 25 years since I saw them play this in concert, which was surround sound. Easily on a par with Dark Side of the Moon for MCH.

A few of my favorite disc this morn

Cruel Sister - Pentangle Have all their stuff in vinyl and various digi inc K2HD & SHM
Fotheringgay vinyl of course and a few digi vers.

I would suspect that members don't need to be informed, I'll leave it at leaders in there genre.
The guitar play of Renbourne & Jansch never get old in my book. Have all their disc too!. As a frustrated picker I've stolen more from them than Carter has liver pills. Should add that I also have an Anthology and the box set.

Various artists from a Classical music background and from various composers.
Nothing exceptional here; just various interpretations from a vast Classical repertoire...

Forever An anthology Judy Collins Nice selection here, I must have played the Who Knows Where The Time Goes lp to death in the late 60's early 70's.

Passion & Warfare, The 7th Song - Steve Vai For the most part both of these are more to my liking than the usual releases. Sometimes Vai can get on my nerves, not unlike a lot of other guitarist for that matter. I mean I know your good Steve, I just don't need to be reminded on every bar.

Just because I can ... Annie

Spinning now::

* I like track #7, 'Aqua', and the next track right after,
#8, 'No Fear, No Hate, No Pain (No Broken Hearts)'.

--> And check that bass from those techno beats (LPs or/& CDs).
