Hi M
good news indeed!
if 1:28 is enough depends on the rest f the chain, but you´ll find out soon enough
have experimented a lot with dc filtering on the supply.......I´ll fill you in on demand....
best

another polypropylen MKT1840 10µF shunt cap over the BG super E.....even more harmonics and tone......

Art Pepper Meets the rhythm section never sounded better and pretty close to my SM copy when played on A80NextGen

My damper diode PS build is just about done. I bored the hole today for the voltmeter. Adjustment rheostat is at the rear- I did not want to clutter the front.

A few more mechanical fasteners inside - but the design is done. Only now to wait for the DaVa cartridge, promised in September.

What range of voltage is everyone using? Darius says 9-12v max I can get up to about 140 mA into 93ohms at 12v

Here's hoping it was worth the work!

Excellent job. You’ll have enough wattage there. If you can be bothered, do consider a 2nd stage between this and your arm board - just one cap needed or a cap stack (see some of Leif’s suggestions).

reg dc on DaVa it´s all about heat disappation
I use wood headshells now and had graphite
they both don´t lead heat away at all so I´ve stuck to about 10,5-11vdc where I can still hold the cartridge body without any pain
if not exceeding about 45c temp, I guess you could go higher in a metal headshell

for us civilians, are their issues i need to anticipate having to deal with regarding heat at the cartridge mount? my plan is to mount it on the Durand Tosca which uses an aluminium headshell. any issues with that and me using the tubed phono from Darius?

Joel Durand looked at the rear pins on the DaVa and figured i would need to use the spacer to allow for the pin clearance, so i would assume that would improve the heat dissipation?

I operate it/them between 10,3 and 11vdc and get no bonus from increasing voltage above 11
btw have been A/B testing tube rectified and battery supply most of the day, and even if battery is slightly more transparent and clean, I feel the local dc filtering caps along the wire from psu and all the way to the headshell itself is more rewarding, but as a "margin hunter" I prefer both

Darius did tease me with this picture yesterday (so it's done), but no shipping info yet....anxious to get it in room and be able to see if the EMIA 1:28 Au SUT works right, so i can get the MC Trio built and be able to switch from arm to arm again. Darius had said that the tube power supply was also done.

Looks good, Mike. Which arm and TT will you mount it on first then?

the plan is for the DaVa to be mounted to the Durand Tosca on the Saskia.

then the Primary Control FCL arm, which is also due soon (no pics or shipping notice yet), is slated for the NVS with my newest Etsuro Gold. my Durand Telos unipivot will be retired, and my second Durand Tosca will take over mono cartridge duties on the other side of the NVS. i have to re-task the Telos NVS stainless arm board for the FCL.

@DasguteOhr
should my increased capacitance across the DaVA fieldcoil increase the current draw
I get nowhere near 40-50 hours play time from the 6Ah lithium battery
the measured coil R incl all caps is 93R8....
