I’m seeking information on the new Shunyata Altaira units. From what I understand there are two units: a Chassis Ground and a Signal Ground. Shunayta already has pics of the various grounding cables on their site (Sigma, Alpha, Delta, Venom).

Does anyone else have further info on the Altaira?

Thanks.

Kind of fun to see my pics making the rounds.

From Richard Rogers of Shunyata

They will list for $2500 each - Signal Ground and Chassis Ground products. Each have 6 connections.

They are currently creating how-to videos and dealer training materials before full launch. May start shipping in April but I heard separately from my dealer that summer is more likely. So who knows?

Thanks for the additional info. And great pictures! They help a lot while trying to figure out where to place them. Thanks again.

They are not big. I would ‘guesstimate’ they are about 16” wide, 9” deep and 4” tall.

I found out that these units will use different grounding cables than what is already of the Shunyata website.

They will hopefully be out by the end of next month.

It will be interesting what Shunyata says these devices will do better than chassis grounding the devices to the Triton. Also, how do you access signal ground?

Curious about these for sure. Wonder how they differ from the grounding on the Everest which i currently use with homemade grounding cables

From what I understand there is a Chassis Grounding unit and Signal Grounding unit. Needless to say, Chassis and Signal Grounding differ.

From what I understand reading a competitor‘s website, signal grounding cables plug into the rear of your components using various cable terminations. For instance if you have a free USB port then you could use that. A different port using a different termination may work better though? Shunyata already has some grounding cables online with different types of terminations - Link Their new Altaira system may not use these specific cables but they are indicative of their design process …

Providing that my “guess” is correct, since I also have an Everest and have 9 components to ground I’ll need 2 x Altaira Signal Grounding units and 9 cables. This will add up quickly….

I’m curious, what kind of cable you made your grounding cables out of. Shunyata Sigma Grounding cables are around $500 each. That means I’m looking at $4500 in just grounding cables. This doesn’t include the two Altaira signal grounding boxes. Someone mentioned they are $2500 ea. So, I’m looking at $9500.

If available pics of your grounding setup would be great too. Thanks in advance.

I have the Everest conditioner.
Made my own signal grounding cables from some spare AntiCable solid core speaker wire and these RCA connectors available on Ebay.
All my components are now signal grounded to the Everest grounding.

Are these new products active grounding? Specifically, do they require a power cable to be plugged into an outlet or Shunyata conditioner such as the Denali/Everest for maximum benefit?

@Macattack or @Puma Cat do you know?

Looking forward to the Shunyata videos explaining these new products.

From what I read elsewhere they are passive. As you I’m looking forward to some more info.

What differences are you observing with using the Everest grounding?

I dont have all my components grounded atm, just 3. I made cables similar to those shown above and am currently just grounding the chassis of my two psu and dac. So, this isnt signal ground. The difference was a subtle opening of space and soundstage for me.
