Is this with all Lampis?
I thought you said this about the Pacific.
@DeadWax is reporting those issues with a TRP
All Lampi dacs I ever seen it’s the left side. But dont take this as an issue all au is like this
A Lampi is actually way above grade I feel. we stack and are clueless to what it does as long as it’s not humming lol. Ask Batman to try if he does hear this well. He is the man to hear less dynamics
less micro details.

Which Batman do you have in mind?

Quick question, don't want to take this too far off-topic. I'm considering a new music server to go with my GA TRP:

My current options based upon rack space & budget:

1) Antipodes CX (prob add an EX early next year)
2) Innuos Zenith MK3 + Innuos Phoenix Re-Clocker

Option 1 is about $750 cheaper (just for the CX) based upon what I have located on the used market.

Any insights / opinions very much appreciated.

I've been following this thread for a while now. Purchased a used Golden TRP and it arrived Friday evening. Been comparing it to an older Euforia, a GA and a VPI Prime Signature/Benz LP-S. I'll report back in more detail later, but so far I'm very impressed. Lampizator and Lukasz have totally knocked it out the park with this one.

I was skeptical that this was simply a GA with tube rolling capabilities - but you guys were right - it is more than that.

It's nice to talk about the various tube that can be rolled (and I'll be rolling plenty), but the cake/DAC is so much more substantial than the icing/tubes. Honestly, I'm surprised we don't hear more about this DAC.

Why are they advertising the Pacific in the banner above as having no sonic signature? Of course it has a sonic signature, and its variable by tube rolling, that's why you buy it!

Even the components inside it have a sonic signature.

The TRP is absolutely awesome

Thanks. Above my budget, unfortunately. Looks like it's close to $15k US for the Maximus.
LD offers a very wide range of servers price wise and is open to discuss options

Add Roon and an SSD drive to an existing PC? Get a sMS-200 Ultra Neo (Linux based) and connect that to the TRP? Well this is what I do anyway.
https://sotm-usa.com/products/sms-200ultra-network-player-1

When I plugged in the TRP with the above components, the setup was absolutely seamless. I was up and running in less than a minute. The SMS detected the TRP straight away.

For the initial testing of the TRP, I connected it directly to a Windows laptop via USB. Windows detected the TRP and installed the required WASAPI drivers. No need to install the Amanero drivers (as I had to with the GA).

Question: Are there Windows ASIO drivers for the TRP? Not too relevant for me, as I use the Ultra Neo, but would still be nice to know. I use the ASIO (not the WASAPI) drivers for the GA (connected to a Windows device).

I just bought a NUC for about $350, added SSD for $30, and put Roon on it. I do use a NAS for storage.

That’s exactly what I was going to do, but the Neo came up locally for a good used price, and I wanted to give it a try. It works well, and was easy to setup (plug and play), but I’m not convinced it sounds better than your setup.

Some initial thoughts on the TRP. My friend was here yesterday with his 12 year old son. We listened to the Euforia - which we all liked. I tried to talk things down saying stuff like "you might not notice too much of a difference to start with". Then I switched over to the TRP. The kids jaw dropped and he said "wow". My friend (the Dad) also noticed straight away as well. Would kind of expect/hope that would be the reaction, considering the cost difference, but it's good to see others experience the same.

Took the TRP upstairs to my main listening room. Spent the first 30 mins adjusting the trim levels on my preamp so both the GA and TRP were playing at exactly the same output levels. The GA is still a very nice DAC, but the TRP is better in every regard. That GA was going to be my last ever DAC, and I only wanted the TRP because it takes some of my favourite tubes! The GA is now a very nice upgrade for the living room.

This thing is solid. Better built than the GA. The flexy PCB board on the GA really annoyed me when you insert the tubes.

More revealing, transparent, clear and deep bass. Tight. Timber is incredible. Crisp. Great decay.

Also compared to the turntable. Played vinyl at the same time as Roon and switched between sources with the input button on my preamp remote. I need plenty more listening between different recordings and formats, DSD, etc, but initially I would edge the clarity of imaging and wideness of soundstage to the TRP. Mids to the turntable. I always thought the bass of the GA was a little weaker when compared to the turntable, but things seem much closer with the TRP. I'll readily admit my ears are much more used to the turntable than this new DAC, so will need more time comparing. It's going to be tough...

Attached are some obligatory pictures

1. Cossor 53KU black base, GEC KT66 early wartime version, ST, grey glass.
2. GEC U52, GEC KT66 early wartime version, ST, clear glass
3. Cossor 53KU brown base, GEC KT66 smoked glass, brown base, early 1950's.

I've just been enjoying the DAC, having fun trying different tubes, but no particular roll stands out. They all sound amazing. Perhaps the early clear glass KT66 has more airiness. I might hear more differences when I try some Fivre, Mullard, EL35, EL37, KT88, KT77, 6L6, etc

Thanks very much Golum. I contacted Lucas about a solution. Seeing how my current budget is only $7,000 I don't know if there is much he can build for me but I respect your/Christophe's/Alrainbow's opinion enough to reach out to him.

It sounds like if Lucas does something at that price point it would be better than an Antipodes or Innuos solution I can buy used now.

leftside, you might consider keeping an eye out on eBay for a pair Tesla EL51's or contact Lukas in the Czech Republic, luke@dv.cz. If you go back a few pages, you'll find a report or two on those. Whole other level.
