Gian's system - Vyger-Opus vs Techdas AF3, SAT+Lyra Lambda

Hi Ked,Howie did video with Lampi, but why he not sold his turntables?
So you wrong to tell me and Tang if we take Lampi will sell turntables

i'm as gaga over my digital as the next guy. really in love with it. and a few years ago was gaga over the GG1.5. so i get it.

but just don't play better vinyl pressings if you want to keep that vibe going, because it goes 'poof' pretty quickly........

as far as digital, at it's best, being good enough to not need vinyl i totally agree with that idea. if did not have any vinyl investment 75% i would not go down that road again. so in that way i agree with Ked. no need for vinyl with great digital. but when we talk about being as good then it's just not reality.

i love my vinyl more than ever. but it's not entirely a logical thing.

I don’t think Ked thinks a Lampi will replace vinyl but it is a very good digital rig. I hadn’t played my Lampi for over a week as I have been fiddling with new vinyl and enjoying it very much. Tonight I switched on the Lampi and it reminded me how good it was as well. If there is room for both in your room and life you can’t go wrong but each format has its own strengths. If anything the Lampi has encouraged me to improve my vinyl playback.

Because Ked near every day tell me that if come to my home
With his Lampi I will. It and will Sel all my analog
So every day we fight for this

And let's be honest. I don't mean this disparagingly either, but the cost of the MSB solution to arrive at "almost as good as vinyl" that goes "poof" pretty quickly isn't logical either. Personally, I've heard the GG, but I'm not sure if it was the "1.5". Nevertheless, I didn't have the vibe described herein side by side a relatively modest-by-our-standards vinyl frontend. The convenience factor, however, could easily win me over were I more capable of casting aside hereditary OCD tendencies. And so if I tend to relegate digital to music discovery and/or background hassle-free entertainment purposes, then going all out or even close to it just offends my sensibilities. To each their own.

So, on vocals Vyger Opus was 2 and on orchestral it was 1. Techdas 1 for vocals, 2 for orchestral

So, dcuv consistently picked Vyger for both, and Howie consistently picked SAT techdas lambda for both. Al and Mani picked a different one for each, which shows they are both very good (i mean both analog set ups, not both Al and Mani). Jack didn't give numbers so I can't say. Ncif thought he picked techdas but he picked Vyger.

Personally I have heard Gian's system thrice, last time with Vyger Opus. This time I was not there but listening to videos Gian was sending by WhatsApp. Pandemic review.

The first thing I asked him was what led to his midbass and bass improvement, which was with both tables. He had added Goebbel cables and a new finite elemente rack and he confirmed both

The SAT lambda was definitely showing more weight, control, authority, clean, and lambda was sounding very unlike usual old Atlas. My questions to him were, is this more organic and is the transparency and neutrality and dynamics retained? I think overall this is a winner. Shane can add his comments.

I couldn't choose much in the video. I liked both, and if I have to keep going back and forth to choose, instead of a slam dunk, it means there are no real winner on video, and different choices above show that.

I have heard the SAT with Opus at Tang's on AF1p, and on Myles on Lyra atlas, that is my only prior exposure to SAT. On Gian's video, the SAT and lambda both excite me.

Overall, I have found the nuance and agility of linear trackers to be enhanced on SETs horns which accentuate that trait. On SS, cones / panels, I find that pivot led control, authority, and layering is what I prefer. Which is why I am interested in listening to CS port at Mike's, because if I extrapolate previous listening experience, I would prefer his Durand pivot. So to hear CS port do better would be interesting

Jazz tomorrow. Am going to sleep and the dead can't dance

Through my Shure headphones my initial rankings are 3-1-2 for Pagannini and 3-2-1 on male vocals. I am not familiar with these recordings so need to listen some more. Very interested to know which one is number 3?? Thanks for posting.

Ah I see the issue. I named them 1 and 2 in YouTube but placed them in the post in the order of 2 and 1. Lol. Sorry for the confusion
