Kris, don't exclude world's first...Paul Pang QUAD switch.

Fancy FOUR Telegartner Gold M12's to compete w this quad switch, at 60% the cost of an Extreme!?

Sure.
we should perform all swiches comparison to find the one that works best with Extreme.
I think The only one is Emile to do it.
He has the most experience In that and designed Extreme with fantastic attention to details.

But Kris, I'm intrigued by the concept of a quad switch. I mean, why stop there?
Septet switch, octet etc?
A Telegartner quad would be €16.5k!!!

I assume all the switches work. However, each of them will sound different in each system that includes an Extreme. I doubt everyone will come to the conclusion that the same switch(es) is the “best.”

Is there a case where no switch is the best

Is it possible to not have a switch? Even if you connect to your modem/router you are connecting to a switch and those switches are pretty lousy.

I can speak only for the Uptone EtherREGEN and it is definitely better than just connecting to my router.

I must be an outlier as in my system and for my ears I see zero reason to put a switch where I feel none is necessary

Which ones have you tried/listened to?

Can you put into words that I can understand other than saying it is "better" with a switch

as I said........."none"

I don't see the need

In fact I recall way back when this thread was started and the issues of tweaks and add on to the Extreme were discussed, Emile stated that a good set of footers would outshine everything else

Also as I said I belong to the "KISS" technique or as they say "keep it simple, stupid".

In my system there was a significant lowering of the noise floor and I was better able to hear small details in the music after I put the EtherREGEN switch in.

I understand completely. I achieved the same thing using my set of footers without going through yet some other connection

If you are so inclined you should read what the EtherREGEN (or other switches) do. It may peak your interest.

As I said, you are already using a switch (I assume) so this wouldn’t be making things more complicated.

I am not trying to convince you to try any of these products. All I am saying is that they can serve a purpose and I liked what it did in my system.

I am not disagreeing with your findings. I just don't we want to complicate the circuit with yet one more connector. The footers that I use are designed according to the Second Law of Thermodynamics for lowering the sound floor. Like you " All I am saying is that they can serve a purpose and I liked what they did in my system."

Why do you need even one in your system Marc?

coming from someone who has never used them I'd say your comment is a bit of a stretch, so please spare me the innuendo unless you've tried them

You might even look up Emile's post in this thread where he said a good set of footers would outperform any of these tweaks.

To each our own. We pays our money and we takes our chances. I'll stick with the footers
