I read what Herb wrote - thanks for this. The bit I am unsure about is how this is working as a system. He mentions the Uber rare papier mache lower horn and the metal 22a above it but both are powered with WE555 field coils. I assumed they had some form of horn loaded woofer somewhere if they were getting some better bass extension this year.
Anyone taken any detailed notes about the full configuration? Would be grateful.
It looked like that they had a bass horn in the picture I got from my friend too.

It was very good this year at least for acoustic music.I'm not there but a couple of friends who are say the WE room by far. Looking at the pictures they sent this year's combination of horns and setup, I'm not surprised.

Not that deep really but it didn’t matter it was very good.I heard the same David - by a large margin superior.
What are the horns and drivers being used this year btw? Apparently the bass is deep also this year.
Yeah I liked them most when I visited a few years back by a long way tbh. I wasn’t terribly arsed by the lack of bass depth but very cool that they have achieved that also this year. They just made music sound real when I was there.
I have the same feelings about the three you seemed to like, which sounded rather lifeless. My top three were Nagra/YG Sonjas, Vitus SIA 30 and MSB.
Listened to a few horns including the Aries Cerat but their attraction continues to elude me.
They all sound coloured to me compared with high end cone speakers.

Collectively the WBF group at the show all thought the Aeries Cerat was coloured.
That said it is a skilled colouration attempt. Or a fluke, whichever way you look at it.
Very good in many ways. A cure from walking from room to room that all seem to sound the same.
Curious what colorations were thought to be heard, skillful or otherwise.Collectively the WBF group at the show all thought the Aeries Cerat was coloured.

There appears to be a.mid bass hype and narrow sweet spot but there's what I would describe as an uncanny sense of well being and naturalness in its delivery that nothing else here did in the same way.
Nice one.
How is it skillful if you can pick up obvious coloration, it only means boredom and fatigueJustin - did you hear the Living Voice Vox? Curious on your impression cos I thought it was “skilfully” coloured also.
It was colorful...not the same as colored. So many systems had no life or tone...Justin - did you hear the Living Voice Vox? Curious on your impression cos I thought it was “skilfully” coloured also.
It was neither boring nor fatiguing. How is it skillful if you can pick up obvious coloration, it only means boredom and fatigue!
