What type of material is used in Cessaro horns?

Since a few years, after a lot of testing with different materials and also full wood versions, Cessaro uses now composite horns which are handmade and based on a two shell construction with a special polymer rubber filling in between (the inner and outer shell).
It has the least sound of it's own, not (only) while knocking on it but while playing the full sound spectrum.

And no i don't have measurements to prove. (maybe/probably the manufacturer has)

It is some kind of composite material. Very hard, heavy and inert. Put you hand on while playing you dont feel a thing no vibration. I hear some people commented that they are not as organic sounding as wood one. I think that is more brain and preference talking.

No to be honest it is not hard. But yes it is heavy and you are right you don't feel any vibration.

I'm not there but a couple of friends who are say the WE room by far. Looking at the pictures they sent this year's combination of horns and setup, I'm not surprised.

What are the horns and drivers being used this year btw? Apparently the bass is deep also this year.

What are the horns and drivers being used this year btw? Apparently the bass is deep also this year.

Bass is always the key to everything Bill and that's why the speakers sound better, in the past they were kind of cutoff at the thigh from what I understand. My friends aren't vintage guys, hard tell the horns types from the pics but I like the way they arrange them as in a multiway system, still most significant improvement seems to be the bass.

Yeah I liked them most when I visited a few years back by a long way tbh. I wasn’t terribly arsed by the lack of bass depth but very cool that they have achieved that also this year. They just made music sound real when I was there.

My top three were Nagra/YG Sonjas, Vitus SIA 30 and MSB.
Listened to a few horns including the Aries Cerat but their attraction continues to elude me.
They all sound coloured to me compared with high end cone speakers.
