I haven't felt the urge to switch from my Android but here is the review of iPhone for those who are:

Summary:

"I think it's important to note that we are almost four years removed from the initial excitement of Apple's first phone, and there are reasons not to buy a Verizon iPhone. Nowadays there are many strong competitors on a variety of providers and from many different manufacturers. This iPhone isn't even on Verizon's new 4G LTE network, which makes it slower than some of the most exciting phones available today. But the unfortunate reality of these super-fast devices is that battery life is not so grand. Apple and Steve Jobs have always focused on performance in a variety of metrics, and if super-speeds have the potential to kill battery life—perhaps the most important factor in any mobile device—then it's unlikely we'll see a 4G iPhone any time soon. Considering the performance I found with the Verizon iPhone, I do not see this as a problem.

Overall, I liked the iPhone with AT&T, and I like it even more with Verizon. I expect many other consumers will feel the same. Sorry, AT&T."

They have already sold out thier preorders in DC.

My opinion is to definitely drop ATT and go with Verizon BUT to wait a few months until they release the next generation iPhone, otherwise you're locked onto a 2 year contract before the 4G phone arrives.

BTW ATT is starting to sweat it as they are flooding the bet with news of it's pending 4G network

And even though I'm currently with Verizon I still plan on awaiting the nex gen iPhone. 4G or bust.

The iPhone 5 is apparently due to be released in a few months

I heard there is another opportunity next Wednesday right before it is open to public.

It was for existing Verizon customers only right now.

Once my AT&T agreement expires (June of this year) I will move to Verizon as well. I'd rather have 3G on Verizon than 3G on AT&T but 4G would be very nice. Any (specific) dates on the iPhone 5? If it is just a bit past June, I'd wait to convert.

June or July is the word on the street. I'm waiting til then.

Wow! That's fast! If I bought a 4G iPhone for Verizon's network and then found out that the new iPhone which will work on Verizon's 4G network would be available only 4 months later, I'd feel a tad duped. BTW, it gets a bit confusing to say 4G iPhone on 3G network and 5G iPhone on 4G network. I vote we sync them and call them both 6G!

We have five phones and a data card. So at any time I have wanted to upgrade, one of the upgrades is available to use. I guess if you had a family where everyone upgraded religiously it would be different.

It's nice that Americans will finally have a choice of iPhone carrier (up here in Canada, we have a choice of 5 vendors I think--although we still pay more than you guys, I think), but one thing to bear in mind (this applies to all smart phones) is that CDMA (the cell phone tech Verizon et al use) doesn't support simultaneous data and voice operation (GSM does).
