Has anyone heard the Devialet D-Premier Integrated Amp/DAC

Thanks so far. I am still hanging around with the cable question. Due to a need of 8 meters on the one side and about 5 meters on the other, it should not be to expensive. Additional to that I have to lead the cable through 20mm reserve conduits that doesn´t alow a diameter of a hose pipe. I don´t believe in cable voodoo that much on the one side but don´t want to loose sound quality on the other. We will have an other test especially for that with my dealer in a couple of weeks (hope to test the D-Premier vs Devialet 110 also). Searched through the internet a little bit the last days and found some advises for Silent Wire (LS 16 Mk2 or LS12), Fast Audio (Fadel Art Greylitz Mk II) and for MIT (EXP 1) also. My dealer recommends Audioquest. I myself had a cable of T+A (Speaker 6) so far. Heared about the WireWorld (Oasis 6) also. But I think it is to thick in diameter

I guess it will turn out to be an interesting afternoon.

What about the silver cables from "German Highend" , are they any good ?

Here in the UK Vertex AQ will make custom cables if you ask them but they are expensive due to the unusual materials used in the RFI absorption module.

Hi Togil,
I'm using a German Highend LGS silver cable with my D-Premier and I'm very satisfied after all the Silent Wire and Kimber and Wire World cables I have used before (partly much more expensive than the GH cable). It has more resolution and less stress that any other cable I have tried before. I guess it is the silver that matters...

I do need more than 12 meter all together. So even the LGS-2-S sounds crazy in price to me.
And due to the lenght I guess they would advise to go for the LGS-2-XL for a distance of 8 meter?!

I have the last one from this list, but I have only 1,6m which still costs about 1400€ with the silver bananas. For 12m this would not be my choice, not only because of the price but also because of the small profile (about 0,75mm²). You can try the Ecoflex 10 from ebay. 3€ per meter. This is a coaxial cable with 7 solid cores designed for HF transmission with high power. I tried that and found it much better than a 30x more expensive Silent Wire 32 LE. If it does not sound good for you you are not wasting too much money, but I guess all cables that come close soundwise will be crazy expensive. For 12m you can only assemble the cable yourself. In the meantime I know some people who are very satisfied with this cable...

I tried that and found it much better than a 30x more expensive Silent Wire 32 LE (...) I guess all cables that come close soundwise will be crazy expensive. For 12m you can only assemble the cable yourself. In the meantime I know some people who are very satisfied with this cable...

Honest?! You mean this one. Better than Silent wire? Did you try it with the Devialet?

Alas, no. I remain skeptical. We've had no new information from the chap who was beta testing the Air fix, have we? He was optimistic at his last post, but said nothing more over the weekend.

Like Antoine, I have been beta testing revised firmware 6 and air 2 over the weekend too. No dropouts. I use a MacBook Pro plus a dedicated Time Capsule router and i have only tested CD rips, iTunes downloads and iTunes radio. I did not test other stuff like Spotify.

I fed this back to Devialet this morning. Devialet say that other feedback, so far, is positive. Clearly Devialet won't release until they get 100% positive feedback from both Mac and PC users with various software - but it sounds like they have solved the issue and so I expect new releases in a day or two.

Sound quality is astoundingly good.

Good news! I really like the sound of Air2, sans dropouts, and am hoping to shed another wire in favor of wi-fi, so that I can move the computer and hard drive to an adjacent closet.

I was able to set up a dedicated "spur" router (an Apple Time Capsule, essentially an Airport Express) with an ethernet connection to my main router (a BT Home Hub 4) and then connect wirelessly to the Time Capsule - both MacBook Pro and Devialet
D-Premier. All in the same room, so I have not tried more remotely.

Sound of Air2

I've gone back to attentively listening to Air2 (before the dropouts start) and misgivings are arising. Compared to Audirvana wired via AES/EBU, I sense dynamic compression in Air2--engaging at first, but the nuances are gone. Fine for rockers and the tizzy boomy set, but not felicitous for acoustic music. Maybe I'm just having a bad ear day.

I did give some feedback but have been busy. Anyway all my tests were very positive. Tested with JRiver, Spotify (+Remoteless for Spotify on iPad), iTunes (+Apple Remote on iPad), XBMC and Youtube in a Firefox webbrowser and it's very stable. Indeed no more hiccups/dropouts, pops, clicks or noise. I do have a very strong WiFi network (-21dB on Devialet) but suspect it is at least as stable as AIR1.5. All tests were done on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit as I don't own a Mac PC.

Aha, I already thought I saw your name in the list too, so I saw right.

I submitted my testlog and findings yesterday and Devialet mailed me back today saying that all indicators show that the new software works well in various settings (PC/MAC) and they will release the new firmware & AIR2 software today or tomorrow latest. I'm assuming (based on the beta's) the version numbers will be 6.0.7 for the firmware and 2.0.1 for AIR.

edit: I just read on Facebook that they aim to release it on wednesday.

It is connected to the internet, albeit via the main router. What's more, I operate another wifi network from my main router and my Devialet wifi network from my Time Capsule - with no problem.

I certainly like your listening impressions better than mine. We seem to have similar music preferences. Air2 may just be more forward in the midrange, and I should adjust. Sometimes the ears require a reset and break-in to accommodate change. I'd be delighted if Air2.1 silenced my exceptions by being "astoundingly good".
