Has anyone heard the Devialet D-Premier Integrated Amp/DAC

i have just one hi-res from HD Tracks 24/96 and it was fine.

Did you also tried to go back and forth from different high resolutions tracks ? ( from 24/88.2 to 24/196 to 16/44.1 to 24/44.1 etc...) Did the D-Premier follows easily the different files resolution ? Same experience in Dual-mono ?

Thx for any feed-back

Best Regards
Yaduvent

Hi Yaduvent

I have only tried with the D-Premier in dual mono. And I only had one hi-res album.

On the Devialet dropdown on my MacBook Pro i tried switching between 16 bits and 24 bits and through various 44.1khz to 96khz (I didn't actually have any 192khz recordings) and it follows easily. There is about 0.5 seconds music interruption as one switches which would be inconsequential in reality of course.

I've just bought some more hi-res albums including 192khz so I will try those tomorrow and can post if you wish?

With pleasure IanG-UK, as it seems to me that's the major issue they had in the past...

Not good news about availability of new models, certainly here in the UK - now another 2 weeks added

Just trying three hi-res albums now - Jazz At The Pawnshop and Cantate Domino (both 96/24) and Close To The Edge (Yes) (192/24) with no dropouts and with the Devialet working in the appropriate format as shown in the drop down current track box. However, the odd dropout would not surprise me as my wifi signal strength at -56dbm is borderline, I think, for 192/24.

6.0.7 and 2.1 now on Devialet website!!!

Just checked and saw the same. :) I see some changes in the time and date stamps and filesizes for both the firmware and AIR2 compared to the last beta's so I will upgrade too.

And still not one word from Devialet on their website.

To benefit from regular software updates, register your Devialet.
In this way, we will also know where to contact you if we have important information to pass on.
Does not seem to be important :(

They're probably working on it. It's been uploaded less than an hour ago.

I just checked the website (see upper right corner) and it now says: "Now available: AIR 2.1".

And when you follow that link:

Devialet AIR 2.1 innovations

increased stability
suppression of occasional drops
better network flow management
internal clock of computer controlled by your Devialet

Welcome, Eric.

@all
Do you have experiences with different loudspeaker cables using the Devialet?

I'm using Nordost Tyr's (the original version, 2x2 meter) with my D-Premier connected to Von Schweikert VR-5 SE Anniversary loudspeakers. I used the Nordost Heimdall's before the Tyr's there was a subtle but noticable improvement with the Tyr's. (Could buy them for a very good price). Didn't compare any other loudspeakercables on the Devialet.

For power I'm using a Lessloss DFPC Signature powercable connected to a PS Audio Dectet powerfilter (high current outlet). The Dectet is connected to a Furutech FP-SWS-D(G) dual wall outlet using a Lessloss DFPC Original. The Furutech wall outlet is terminated in the central "house fusebox" (don't know the right English translation..meter cupboard?) with a HiFi-Tuning solid core (3x2,5mm^2) powercable (so it's on a dedicated AV power group).

Not sure. I think they mean to say (in layman's terms) that the clock of the Devialet controls the datatransfers so that these are a-synchronous.

Does that means you cannot use your house computer for different tasks at the same time when playing music with air, like i am using air and playing from iTunes, and my son sits on the computer and use YouTube ?

The clocking just concerns the sound card (in this case the D-P). You can work other thing on your Mac in the meantime.

oki fine but i actually have some chalenges…..,installed air 2,1 and no problems, downloaded the firmware 6.07,says 6,06 on the Devialet screen ??

Play via imac/air and use iTunes ,and get some scratching sounds now and then ??? if it works for everybody else it must be the iTunes then ? hmmm

Hi Petter, you can indeed do multiple things on your computer at the same time however the Devialet becomes your soundcard so all sound will be redirected to the Devialet.

If your Devialet still shows 6.0.6 as the current version the update didn't succeed. Did you delete all files from your SD card (backup dp_cfg.txt first!) then copu all the files in the 6.0.7 ZIP file to the SD card. Pull the AC plug from the Devialer, reinsert the SD card again en insert the AC plug again. After the upgrade finishes power off the Devialet, delete all files from the SD card, copy back the dp_cfg.txt file to the SD card and reinsert it and power the Devialet back on.

hmm i was to fast, deleted all files on the sd card, and downloaded new 6.07 and did drag it over to the sd card from the imac

Then i did go via the config and downloaded new file and saved as to the sd card ,out with the power cable, inn with the card, inn with the power cable ,start ??

Just have to go thru it again i think

The procedure you describe should work too (buf I prefer mine as it is the "cleanest") as long as you -unzip- the 6.0.7 ZIP file/copy all 17 files inside the ZIP to the SD card and not copy the ZIP file itself.
