Anyone out there has experience in burning in the Mastercrown powercords? I have installed two new ones on my mono amps. Huge uptick in resolution and soundstage compared to Transparent Opus but noticeably leaner. They are now about 150 hours in. How much longer before they are fully burnt in?
Hi I replaced 2 Opus power cords with two master crowns on my mono amps. I didn't notice anything leaning...in fact I thought everything got a lot better!

I thought about 200 hours...but still albeit small small moves now after 5-6 months. It wasn't a profound change....just gradually more relaxing/engaging/involving...
I am interested in replacing my Opus. Candidates are Masterbuilt, Snake River, Siltech and Shunyata. The thing I worry about with the Siltech given the silver is body and warmth - I love tubes but I have a SS system. Any thoughts?
I think the Siltech-Mastercrowns-have more body and warmth than my prior Opus. It's also more relaxed, higher resolution, and more quiet.
Have you considered trying a Transparent Opus power isolator on your amps with your Opus power cords? I have not been able to take those out...I am using Siltech Double Crowns on my dac/pre into an Opus Power Isolator.

I have not tried using the isolator. I have a Transparent Reference isolator and I have never been enamored with it. The little difference it makes in my system is not worth the cost of the kit.

Interesting. I haven't tried a Ref Isolator. I have 3 of the Opus Isolators. I bought 2 Double Crown power cords and preferred that on my DAC/Pre vs Opus power cords and Opus Isolator. But kept feeling like something was missing...back in went the Opus Isolator...but with the double crown cords, it really drops noise and more engaging.
I am getting a new Nagra HD Dac X und need some cables for this. My dealer has demoed Siltech and I was was very impressed.
The Gryphon Ethos has a CD-Transport AES/EBU out. To use the Ethos as the CD drive of the Nagra I plan the 880D. The Aurender will be connected with Royal Single Crown Ethernet and USB and become the major source for the Nagra.
I am also in the process of convincing myself that I need new speaker cable. My current plan is to use 2 Ruby Crown per speaker to continue my current approach of biwiring with 2 cables.

Hi I have the Nagra Ref DAC. You're going to love the Nagra digital sound. I use a Siltech Double Crown AES/EBU (single) cable from my dCS Vivaldi Transport to the Nagra Ref DAC. It's an amazing improvement over my former Transparent AES/EBU (which was good too until I heard the DC). I have two Siltech Double Crowns for my ethernet (NAS to router, then router to Nagra Streamer)
I have also demo'd Double Crown RCA's from DAC to Preamp, I plan to get those one day soon...
For my interconnects I have Tara Labs „The Muse“ with floating ground. I am very happy with them.
My rack is too small and I need to move parts away. My current plan is to have the Ethos and the Aurender on another wall. Like a „sources corner“.
Royal Single Crown Ethernet -> Aurender -> Siltech Royal Single Crown USB -> PlaybackDesigns USB-X4 -> NLink 6m -> Nagra HD DAC X.
Ethos CD transport out -> 6m Siltech 880D AES/EBU -> Nagra HD DAC X.
And I am running a normal XLR interconnect from the Ethos DAC output to the Commander.
This allows me to split the main power feed between Amplifiers, Preamp, Nagra HD DAC X and the sources Aurender and Ethos. No Ethernet anywhere near the DAC.

Have you done a/b with crystal cable vs ruby crown? Are you referring to the 40th anniversary current ruby crown? Because now they are monocrystal silver and not the g9 gold/silver alloy I believe.
I'm now a Siltech/Crystal Cable member. Looking forward to hearing what they do for my DAC + outboard power supply after they're run in. I'm guessing 100-200 hours?

Congratulations! I love my Siltech ethernet cables...BIG improvement. I suspect the same for your USB. I never heard a big breaking in change...just slowly seemed better over a few 100 hours. Ditto my power cords...sounds great from the start...and slight better over time...
